A distinguished difference between the two is that after a sleep cycle the patients seems to be well rested. There are also other indications of Narcolepsy to include Rapid-eye-movement-sleep. Patients who do not suffer from Narcolepsy have to stages of sleep. Non-voluntary rapid-eye-movement-sleep (NREM) and REM sleep. Those who have the disease go straight into REM sleep.
