Diversity broadly refers to the condition of having or being composed to differing elements especially the inclusion of different types of people (such as people of different cultures and race) in a group or organization (Banks, 2015) . Stan Lorenz as a beginning teacher in suburban Houston might experience racial diversity. In United States schools’ racial diversity refers to the representation of different racial or ethnic groups in American schools. Globalization and migrations of people to the United States have increasingly led to the multicultural American population. This has in turn increased classroom diversity.

Racial and ethnic diversities in school fosters understanding of new cultures and belief system and dispels stereotypes which instills empathy in students. Racial diversity in schools has several benefits for racial minority students (Betancourt et al. 2016). These include higher reading levels, increased likelihood of graduating in high school, positive impact on work aspiration, greater interaction with other racial groups and creation of interracial friendships in adult life. It also gives one the desire to work in the racially diverse environment.

Another form of diversity that Stan Lorenz is likely to encounter is diversity in language. Educating students broadly in all facets of language and culture as well as of course in the arts and sciences yields immense rewards ( Schaeffer, 2016) . When students study languages other than their own they are sensitized to the existence of different cultural perspectives and practices. In that case, they are able to communicate successfully across linguistic and cultural differences.

Economic diversity is also dominant whereby he might observe that low-income students perform better in such a school where there is economic diversity (Barak, 2016) . Increasing economic diversity helps a region to weather the storms of economic hard times. In this case, developmental diversity is inevitable. The main reason for this is to promote a mindset of openness and inclusive globally and willingness to bring support and assistance to one another.
