Natural disasters are ruinous events, mostly environmental calamities that are caused by natural processes of the earth such as earthquake and floods resulting to great damage or even loss of lives. These natural disasters take place around the globe from Africa, Asia, America, Europe and Australia. United States of America experience these calamities mostly due to climate change. The most common disaster in the United States is hurricanes, floods, wild fires, snow storm, tornado, tsunami and earthquake. But not all states in the United States frequently experience these calamities. There are some states in the united states that often go through these disastrous events due to some reasons. States that are located in the coastal region mostly go through these calamities due to their location such hurricanes, tsunami and floods. Islands such as Hawaii are also affected mostly by hurricanes, earthquake and tornados (Dunn, 2019). The results of these disasters are huge and more expensive since a huge percent of the United States live in these areas henceforth there are many loses of lives.

United States collaborates with various local, national and international organizations to deal with the negative effects resulting from these disasters. Currently, the United States is putting efforts to find ways to deal with and prevent these calamities from further happening. Some of the organizations that the US Federal Government works with include Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Centre for Disease Control (CDC), USA Army and World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The Federal Emergency Management Agency collaborates with the US Government to manage resources, distributing supplies and putting up a strategic plan to deal with the disaster (Hofmann, & Hudson, 2009). The Centre for Disease Control helps agencies to health disasters and minimizes its effects on communities. World Metrological Organization helps in developing and delivering services that protect lives and properties from natural hazards. Collaboration with these organizations has made it easier to reduce the risks.

The United States Army partner with the government working hand in hand to assist the affected and the infected persons during the season of the disaster. The army provides security to the individuals and families located near the areas where these disasters are promising to occur as well as areas where they have occurred. In places where a disaster such earthquake and hurricane is to occur the army is supposed to engage and evacuate the area to protect the people. They provide temporally and permanent refugee camps to the people affected for easy administration of food and water supply, provision of vaccines and other medical requirements. They also provide their medical facilities and they become open to anybody who is need of a medical attention. They also provide their own medical officers and doctors to provide treatment to the injured during and after disasters. This helps to give treatment to huge numbers of patients in a small period of time hence reducing loss of lives (Hofmann, & Hudson, 2009). Transportation of the patients is also done by Army depending on the type of disaster that has occurred whether an earthquake, floods or even wild fires. The US air force offers transportation where the Army cannot get access to whereas the navy offers transportation where the army and air force cannot get access. Even though, the three divisions work hand in hand to provide assistance in an effective way.

The local and national government of the United States have in important role to play in case of a natural disaster and its speed to act determines the effects of the disaster. When a natural disaster occurs and is reported, all levels of the government starts its response towards the disaster. The local government is very important and plays an important role in responding and recovering from a disaster. Once the local government efforts are in vain or are slow in progress and more special equipment are needed, it requests the national government to chip in. Lead by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the government manages and co-ordinates the disaster, finds ways to reduce the effects of the disaster as it take overall control. It requests the US army to offer their assistance or even take control of the situation. It also requests other international organizations to chip in where need be either physically or financially. As response activities are in process, the federal government led also by the federal emergency management agency starts preparation of the recovery activities after the disaster.

In conclusion, the army and the government work together to respond to natural disaster as well as setting up recovery activities during and after a disaster. These efforts put up by the two including international organizations have recently reduced the risks of national disasters in the United States.
