The national care for health care leadership is a type of organization that contains models that were developed to provide a suitable competence model in leadership that will enhance developments in the health care departments. The NCHL model was developed following consultations from educational and industrial psychologists. Most of the health care settings are using the model and research by CAHME shows that it’s the leading model in this sector (Shewchuk et al., 2005).
When starting my program, I was passive because I lacked leadership education. The organization I am working with promoted me to my current position out of the skills and competency level I have acquired about health care. As a health care practitioner, I understand that there is need to keep making specific changes in the systems and work methods in order to improve performance. I have continued to utilize every knowledge that I acquired to identify areas of improvement at my place of work. I have been working in this department for some time now and I tend to think in the healthcare sector, things usually change daily and having the ability to adjust to changes while making changes for an effective work productivity at lower costs is significant for the revenue management of the organization. The skills that I have attained from my previous position have contributed to my success that got me to the position I am currently.

As the healthcare manager, my mission is to provide excellent and quality clinical services and to strive to improve and educate people on the rapid changes in the healthcare regulations and policies. My vision is to demonstrate and provide superior and innovative clinical services and to provide advanced state-of-art technology to enhance the clinical and operational performance. Also I would like to see to it that the patients who are coming to get services from the health care organization that I work with are attended to with care and given the best services.
The value statement focuses on reflecting the common morality that occurs in hospitals, emphasized on respect, integrity and trust. The organization ought to value the patients, community, the staff and the suppliers in general and ensure that their needs are catered for and that they are put into consideration. The feedback I get are positive ones as I stated my vision and mission to the employees and they understood it. From my knowledge, I know that the workers in every organization should be made to understand the vision and mission of the health care departments that they will be working for and thus will motivate them to work hard. Team work and collaboration, as well as respect for diversity at the workplace are also my important values.
The Quality Healthcare Association on Accreditation is the organization I used to conduct my research. The mission of this organization is to optimize patients’ experience through innovative health care, enhance proper training and participation in global health policy. The vision is to be world class patient centred specialized care organization. They have corporate values which include quality services, professionalism and integrity ethics, patients’ satisfaction and responsiveness. The organization is a non-governmental organization that is managed by managers who are focused and look into it that the patients’ needs are looked. In their financial data, I discovered that it is not a profit making business since it focuses on meeting the patients’ needs and not the money they get from the clients.
The organization needs a person with my leadership skills as they have a vision and mission which is almost similar to mine. Concerning my goals, I am not interested in the financial gains, but I am focused on providing quality services to my patients. My financial data that I had created was the same as the organization, and this is an added advantage to me as we would not have problems with the organization management regarding finance. The organization source of finance is from well-wishers who are donating funds to manage the health care unit. Although it is a non-governmental organization, the government has greatly supported it as its one of the organization that is offering quality services to the people of this country.
Key points:
For an organization to be successful, it must have qualified employees (Leggat, 2007).
The vision, mission, and core values must be well explained to the members of the staff.
Both the management and the staff should make the organization a non-profit organization but make it an organization to help the sick.
Recommendations
As a health care leader, I would recommend other human resource professionals in the health care organization should make sure that the employees being employed are qualified and have the skills to work in the health care department. The employees should also be given a list of the goals of the organization they will be working for and express their views about the goals. Another recommendation is that the management of every organization should keep a close watch on the progress of the services being given to customers so as to build a good reputation about the organization (Stefl and Bontempo, 2008). My personal or professional improvement plan is to continue educating myself while taking care of my family and striving to do my very best in the career path that I have chosen as a health care leader. Also, I plan to make realistic and achievable goals and be innovative. My professional goal is to become a Chief Executive Officer of a health care organization.
