The human brain varies regarding sociability, attention, learning, mood, and mental functions. Neurodiversity should be viewed as normal behavior of the human brain rather than a deficit. Embracing and celebrating these differences as strengths has a major positive impact on society. Firstly, it is less likely that individuals with thinking and learning differences fall through the cracks of education systems. Secondly, neurodiversity highlights the challenges that require support. Lastly, it will encourage research and funding for diverse brain functions. In addition, neurodiverse individuals should not change themselves to conform to mainstream society. They should view themselves as differently-abled. The different thinking levels creates a good platform for an individual to work together and complement each other's uneven skills which makes one person good at something but bad at the other.

Society is a major benefactor of neurodiversity since it uses individual skills to have different views of a problem and create viable solutions. In addition, having different thinking capabilities makes individuals interesting to work within any environment. Additionally, society should not view neurodiversity as a condition to fix but should seek to understand and help eradicate its stigma. We can move away from neurodiversity by embracing individual thinking and creating platforms that help people cope with the current world issues. Also, creating job opportunities for neurodiverse people plays a major role in inclusivity in society.

Despite neurodiversity being a relatively recent concept, it has important ethical implications in indicating that there is no single way to be normal. The attitude towards neurodiversity had changed over recent years. Neurodiverse people were considered immoral and often subjected to inhumane treatment. The changes have been attributed to individuals considered neurodiverse and the emergence of rights movements.

Response 1

Hello Denise!

I agree with you on the different viewpoints provided by neurodiverse people. Therefore, you are right to say that they should not change themselves to conform to mainstream society. In addition, the different perspectives of people with and without talents enable the problem-solving process to be efficient, where the different thinkers can learn from each other to complement their abilities to benefit society. Also, incorporating neurodiverse in society helps alleviate social stigma and helps people learn how to live with different people. However, social justice has been changing in recent years to accommodate everyone in society. People now understand how to deal with different thinkers and learn about what makes them act differently.

Response 2

Hello Monique!

I concur with your ideas about neurodiversity. I agree with you that neurodiversity makes the world interesting to live in and learn from each other while understanding our differences. Also, the different thinking creates a good platform for decision-making and problem-solving techniques, where we can help each other. In addition, or differences should be embraced to remove the picture-perfect image that society has created on how people should think. Additionally, understanding emotional intelligence and neurodiversity will assist society in determining individuals' mental capabilities and in knowing how people feel and express themselves in general.
