Nuclear weapons are the greatest threat to global peace and security because of a small portion of nuclear material launched in a place. Egypt is in the list of the countries that threaten the peace of others through their nuclear weapon programs. Gamal Nasser began this initiative of implementing a nuclear weapon program for Egypt even before becoming the president. A worrying trend is when Egypt attempt to make alliances with other regions to implement nuclear weapon programs. The alignments of the superpowers and the nations that have nuclear power plants are threatening the security and overall of people globally.

Notably, the launching of Egypt’s nuclear weapon program has been progressing and it is something that has taken time to build. It all started with Gamal Abdul Nasal who led a coup on July 23, 1952. This ushered in the launching of the nuclear program in Egypt so that the country began making agreements that are threating to other regions of the world. The common alliances that have happened in this course of Egypt embracing nuclear program include Pakistan, Iraq, Russia, Iran, Argentina, and among others.

IAEA has an objective of offering check and balances on not only Egypt but also other regions with similar ambitions of launching nuclear weapons. They endeavor to prevent a nuclear attack from these countries that concentrates on expanding their nuclear plants and facilities and threaten the peace of others. Egypt is tactical in adopting its nuclear weapon program so that the IAEA always justifies its innocence without suspecting any threatening situations.

The main ordeal is to consolidate with the head of the states who are also the commander in chief in most regions to prevent the employment of nuclear forces at any time. The international organizations should do some more in ensuring that the multi-megaton nuclear weapons are contained or eliminated from the environment. IAEA should also adopt stringent measures on the nations that seem too adamant to choosing the good course of peace. Multiplications of nuclear power plants have been established in new regions despite debates and contemplations against such programs. The big question is still: Does this indicate that the IAEA and international organizations have been defeated in their attempts to offer oversight or nations have just become too tough?
