Conflict resolution is a way in which two or more parties find a peaceful solution to a disagreement or a dispute. At workplace for instance, disagreements can be personal, financial, political or emotional. In case of a dispute among employees resulting to conflicts, the best course of action is to negotiate through best conflict resolution strategies. Discrepancies may occur due to differences in individuals’ opinions resulting to conflicts. Decision making is very significant aspect especially in resolving conflict between individuals or groups. During the decision-making process, business managers are able to come up with conflict resolution strategies and remedies to such conflicts in future.
Task inter-dependencies are among the mutual causes of conflicts in most organizations and companies. It mainly entails monitoring, and defining how expertise, materials, and data of interdependent tasks are shared between allocated members. The inter-dependence of tasks leads to more complications to the general structure of activities and unclear definition of the roles of each member, thereby raising the chances of conflict within the organization. Additionally, task inter-dependence reduces helping behavior in the company leading to low group performance. (Bachrach et al, 2006). The best strategy I would use as a manager to monitor inter-dependence of functions is to come up with an organization chart. A chart points out clearly, the names of the members of the team, each member is given his or her role to play. It therefore enables the team to know each other at a personal level.

The charter also states the principal duties and responsibilities of each member of the team. ( Hoegl & Weinkauf, 2005). The re lationship between the supervisor and the subordinates is also a key component in the charter. Specific rules and requirements for sharing information, materials and know-how are also set to define roles and responsibilities. Finally, when tasks are assigned to members, there must be specific rules that should be followed to ensure that there is accountability. In conclusion, therefore, the organization charter will aid in reducing unnecessary conflicts related to task inter-dependences in an organization.
