Organizations require security measures in order to keep its data and physical products and gadgets secure and safe. In the modern day, cyber threats have become the greatest challenge to many organizations as almost every workplace has computers all over. Some of the preventive ways that can be applied in an organization in order to ensure security include setting up surveillance, using strong authentications or passwords, disabling drives after work, investigating anomalous activities and having backups in place ( Cole, 2011) . The physical environment should not be negligent as well. For instance, the server room in an organization must always remain locked to keep intruders away. The computers in the workstations must always be shut down as well after work. The most vulnerable devices should always be locked in a safe room as well. Security in the organization means keeping every important object and data safe and secure. Computer drives should also be disabled after work.
Setting up surveillance is important for every organization in the modern day. There should be cameras set at various points all over the workplace which would keep track of people getting in and out of the workplace. Security personnel can be put in a room to monitor the movement of people inside the workplace through the cameras ( Vacca, 2012) . In addition, a log book can be used to keep track of people getting into specific rooms in the workplace. All the computers in the workstations must have strong passwords. The passwords must not be similar for all the computers. Backups are necessary for keeping data in case of breaches ( French, 2014) . Without backups, all the company's information would be ruined or lost in the event that a breach occurs. Anomalous activities seen from the server room must be taken seriously, and investigations carried out at once.
