Occupational noise exposure under the occupational health and environmental control program is one of OSHA’s training programs that ensure no accidents in the workplace. In this program, the employers offer training in the utilization as well as care of hearing protectors to their workers. This program is given to employees that are affected by noise that exceed an 8-hour time. The training is done yearly for each employee. The employer ensures that their employees are conversant with the impact of noise, hearing protectors purpose, audiometric testing purpose, and procedures. The employees can get information as well as training materials through the employer who avails them to his or her employees. The employer can also post a copy of the training material and information in the workplace. Additionally, the employer can avail of any informational materials supplied to him or her by the Assistant Secretary about standards to the employers. Finally, upon request, the employer can provide all materials related to the training of the employer and education programs related to the standards to the director or assistant secretary. The effectiveness of this program can be measured by identifying training outcomes and goals, determining if the training created necessary learning conditions, or determining if the training impacted employees on the job performance ( Salway et al., 2020 ). Apart from training, job demands, employee engagement, morale, and company culture are non-training-related issues that may affect employee performance. Job demands are the conditions under which an employee is expected to perform. Employee engagement involves providing the right tools, listening to employees as well as clarifying employees’ goals. Finally, culture is the company's backbone that helps the company retain and motivate its employees. The culture of the company empowers employees to defy all odds and achieve greater performance.
