Memorable moments are seldom and far between. Rarely are these moments captured and cherished because we tend to forget. Experience has taught me that these memorable moments are fleeting and becoming less and less. Generation to generation these moments seem to be diminishing and more people favoring the social media moments. Less people take the time to stop and live in the moment. As a sculpture and visual artist, my mission is to correct certain imbalances in society using art. The generational gap created by social media is one such imbalance that exists in modern society. My hope for this sculpture is to narrow the divide between social media memories and the much needed brief pause in life. I of course would love to make multiple sculptures in multiple locations, locations that have significant life changing moments such as a marriage proposal, graduating from college or the birth of a new born child. My plan for now is to make one ring sculpture and locate it at the Colorado community park where people are likely to share special moments. My idea of the ring comes from the universal symbol of the circle - it representing the circle of life, the notion of totality, wholeness, perfection, the celebration of eternity. The ring is erected from the ground to imply the rooted memorable moments shared between people. Grounds such as the University of Denver are set to benefit from this project. I believe that the sculptures will be a beacon of hope for the community of Colorado.

The ring measures 9 FT high, 10 FT in length and 5 FT in width with slight variations depending on the design of the ring and the location. The concept consists of placing the sculpture in locations that act as a place of hope for humanity such as public parks, schools, hospitals, and national parks. The ring sculptures will be made out of polished steel, while the jewel on top is suppose to be an oculus - glowing from the inside shining light down upon those who pass through, or a fountain bathing the person who passes through symbolizing rebirth. The designs are hurricane and earthquake proof, therefore set to remain standing even after a natural disaster to offer hope. Below are designs for the rings to be erected in the different sites.
