Dear parent,
My name is Mr. South, and your son is enrolled in my class. As such, it is my responsibility to offer him an experience that is fun and challenging in the classroom and I am looking forward to an exciting year. As you may know, 9th grade is a demanding year whereby we shall cover six subjects. For this reason, I will be assessing and reporting the student performance in the following areas as follows.
Student learning achievement and outcome:
The student will be subjected to a five-point rating scale. There will also be an annual report on student Progress toward learning targets whereby a summary of the student’s achievement annually. This will help in reviewing the interest of the students in all subjects necessary for the curriculum.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Student effort:
To help in putting the effort in the subjects that he does not excel, the parents and teacher will join hands to help the student meet the set expectations. The parent will be expected to improve by ensuring that all assigned homework is completed successfully.
Student participation:
As the teacher, I will also ensure that the student is provided with secure, safe, engaging learning activities to enhance his maximum participation at school. There is a wide range of activities to participate in including debate team, diversity club, community service teams, academic groups like the decathlon, robotics, etc. Towards participation success, ensuring that the student’s school attendance is good by application of disciplinary measures remains key (Adelman & Taylor, 2017).
Career-related learning standards:
Career-related learning standards will ensure that the student exhibit proper work ethics and ethical behavior at school, workplace, and community. This will be enhanced by an allocation of tasks to be completed, initiation of action towards the tasks completion, proper planning, and organization of the assigned tasks on agreed timelines.
Personal management:
A personal management competence sheet with requirements will be provided to help the student in contributing towards fulfillment and balancing the responsibilities that many life roles require of him. These roles will apply to a learner as an individual, as a consumer a member of a family and a citizen of the United States.
Problem-solving:
The teacher will also come up with approaches towards problem-solving so that student can come up with a productive and socially responsible resolution of problems when at school, home and even at the workplace.
Teamwork:
The teacher will help the student in developing proper interpersonal skills. Such skills will enhance cooperation in team-related activities so that the common goals set by the teams are achieved at school, home and the workplace (Murphy & Duncan, 2016).
Career-related learning standards:
The student will be required to be a member of several teams and successfully play the necessary roles in each to be considered a capable team player.
He should also appreciate the importance of being an effective team player.
Communication:
The student will be guided on the selection and use of proper communication methods to equip him with the skills to help him receive and give information when at school, home or at work. This will be by teaching the student how to process and convey information both manually and digitally, skills of effective listening, how to summarize verbal communication and proper speaking (Harmon, 2016).
Employment foundations and career development:
The teacher will train the student on how to write instructions, technical reports, and business plans in an accurate and clear manner.
Speaking clearly to the intended audience will also be taught so that they can communicate well about the written and technical reports to help them in becoming effective employees eventually helping them develop in their careers at the workplace.
To create good grades, I will assess the student using the following grading system:
20% Notebook test
30% Exams (Pictorial diagrams, vocabulary and Unit tests)
15% open response
15% Homework assignments
20% class participation and investigation
If the student scores below a C, the parent will receive a progress report so that he/she is notified about the student’s missing needs for improvement before the year ends.
Late work policies:
The late work will not be accepted to ensure that student turn in their work on time while teaching them responsibility. As such, a % or letter grade will be deducted for each day an assignment is late.
However, late work and make exemption will be applied under special circumstances like during the illness of a student or absence due to other school commitments.
Extra credit policy:
The extra credit will be given to students to students who would wish to raise their GPA .It will be in the form of a revision and bonus questions and quizzes.
