As an RN nurse, my success has been an exploratory journey towards improving healthcare service delivery. One of my accomplishments is pursuing my Masters degree in Nursing Leadership. The achievement will assist me in securing the next potential position as a Chief of Nursing Officer. I hold the position of Director of Nursing, which helps me exercise nursing leadership to gain the experience required to deserve higher leadership positions. As the Director of Nursing, I have significantly improved the quality measures or key performance indicators at my workplace in fifteen months. Additionally, I conducted an Annual Regulatory Survey for the facility in three days to ensure that the nursing department was free from deficiencies. As a result, the nursing department has considerably improved.
My success is guided by five core values that I endeavor to adopt every day when working in a nurse's capacity. I aim to provide care to all with dignity, respect, integrity, hospitable, and deliver quality and improved care. The core values guide in strategy formulation in my leadership position. Strategy formulation requires strategic planning and making strategic choices that align with my values and those of the department and organization to provide a holistic plan to achieve set goals and objectives (Ginter et al., 2013). The most significant value is integrity to ensure that I remain relevant and treat everyone equally in service delivery.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
My long-term goal is to improve the facility to achieve a five-star rating in providing quality health services through nursing leadership. My pursuit of a Masters Degree will equip me with the skills required to approach nursing from a different perspective to improve care in the nursing department. As chief of nursing officer, I will be capacitated to develop and adopt nursing goals to be achieved with a set time. My short-term goal is to complete my Masters Degree in Nursing Leadership to facilitate my ability to become the Chief of Nursing Officer. The short-term goal will help me achieve my long-term goal of becoming a nursing leader. My goals will help in changing the nursing approach to become patient-centric and to show employers that leadership is significant in the overall delivery of healthcare services.
Rego et al. (2015) provide the following steps in writing a mission statement; gathering information about myself, defining whom I serve, clarifying my purpose as a nurse, explaining why I do what I do, and describing how I deliver services to clients. I learned that I have great potential in impacting change in nursing as a leader since I managed to achieve great milestones within a short period. However, teamwork is significant to facilitate the achievement of set goals and objectives in nursing (University of Minnesota, 2015). I will use the personal mission statement to address the needs of the demanding users and guiding the nurses in keeping up with the changes in nursing approaches (Speziale, 2015). Additionally, the statement will provide a direction and long-term orientation of my leadership in the midst of an unpredictable environment (Papulova, 2014).
My mission is to commit to the provision of quality health care to patients, families, and communities through quality leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
My vision is to provide quality and compassionate nursing leadership by cultivating effective and friendly working environments that promote professional growth and development through partnership, adoption, and implementing nursing standards and implementing innovative, evidence-based care.
My value statement is to provide nursing leadership to enhance the provision of quality healthcare services with dignity, respect, and integrity in a hospitable nature.
