Jesus Christ is a core personality in the Christian religion. A multitude of Christians worldwide believes in the life and death of Christ. According to the Bible, Jesus died to save the world from sin. The compelling reason that pushes many Christians to follow the doctrines is the promise of eternal life after death. The historical significance of Jesus’ death is predicated on the fact that He once lived and trod the surface of the earth ( Bird, 2013 ). Jesus was sent by God to save the people from sin. Unprecedented challenges marred the life and times of Jesus on earth. For instance, King Herod was determined to kill Him after discovering that the newborn was going to be a challenge to his authority. Jesus lived on the earth during a period of political and religious dynasties. As such, Jesus was an opposition figure who posed immense threats to various kingdoms. The plot to kill Jesus was hatched, and after failing to find substantial evidence to crucify Him, the Pontius Pilate succumbed to the public demand ( Bird, 2013 ). However, Jesus had accomplished His mission on earth.

Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the cross. The moment of His death signifies a new beginning to the lives of Christian adherents. The purpose of His death was to save the human. However, it is evident that not His death compelled every person. Indeed, it is clear that Jesus’ death can be analyzed from the humanistic point of view. Jesus presents Himself as a humble individual who is ready to lose everything for what He strongly believes. Jesus knew well of the general public perception about His claim to be the Son of God. Jesus understood the repercussions of His proclamation. From this angle, something more special emerges about His character. Jesus was a courageous and charismatic leader. Jesus came to the world when dynasties had been established. However, during the period He lived, He amassed a huge number of followers.

The death of Jesus has historical significance as it highlights the leadership qualities that determine the future of a society. Whereas most kings during Jesus time were interested in consolidating wealth and ruling the subjects through dictatorial acts. The kings were exploiting the ordinary citizens for personal gain ( Sexton, 2011 ). As such, the regular citizens were expected to make a sacrifice for the king. On the other hand, Jesus was a servant to his followers to the extent of accepting the death penalty. The death of Jesus motivates the Christians to put the interest of others before theirs.

The death of Jesus has been exemplified in the society. Various aspects have depicted the death on different platforms. I feel that the death shows good over evil. Jesus overcomes the evils that are ailing and haunting the society. The liberation of human sets a precedent for the better future of humanity. After the death of Jesus, the Christian followers are given hope to overcome the imminent challenges that are facing the nation ( Sexton, 2011 ). The Christians are motivated to continue spreading the Gospel of truth and salvation. The mission of the Christians can never be complete had it not been that particular moment of death that signified new dawn. Conclusively, the death of Jesus unveils the political landscape, the leadership challenges, and the hope for spiritual nourishment in the stormy environment.
