Such actions tend to cause serious relationship and work issues. The people with the personality disorders have a variety of stresses and problems in their day-to-day life occurrences since they are liable to have rock relationships with the people that surround them. Personality disorders are of a variety of types whereby each type has symptoms that are different from each other.
The first type of personality disorders includes the paranoid personality disorder. An individual suffering from a paranoid type of personality disorder often has a great distrust of other people such as friends, family, and trust as well. Such a person is often suspicious of other people and often looks out for clues that tend to generate fear (Hongying et al., 2016). The second type of personality disorder is the schizoid personality disorder whereby a person with this illness is detached but is often prone to fantasies. Such individuals have no desire for relationships and tend to behave in an impartial manner when socializing with other people. The characters lack emotional responses. In addition to that, people with the schizoid disorder are often unable to maintain relationships.

The third personality disorder type is the schizotypal disorder that is characterized by the peculiarities in their appearances, speech, and behavior as well. Such people view others to be harmful thus resulting in fear of interactions (YanYan et al., 2016). Importantly, such individuals with this personality disorder type often develop schizophrenia. Antisocial personality disorder is the fourth type of personality disorder. The anti-social disorder is common in men than in women. The disease is characterized by unconcerned feelings for other people. Besides that, such individuals are often aggressive, irritable and are likely to act in an offhand manner. Notably, people with this disorder are charming hence; they have no difficulty in forming relationships. However, the relationships built by individuals with this kind of disease are not long-lived and is often violent. Most persons with this disorder are prone to crime indulgence.
The fifth type of personality disorder is the borderline PD whereby a person lacks a sense of self, and often they feel empty and abandoned. Individuals with borderline personality disorder have unstable relationships with their peers. Moreover, persons with the personality disorder could want to harm themselves since they are often suicidal (Yavuz et al., 2016). Notably, people with borderline PD have both bipolar and schizophrenia. Some of the causative factors of borderline PD is sexual and child abuse. The disorder tends to be common in women than in men. The sixth personality disorder is known as histrionic PD in that they lack self-worth and tend to rely more on their well-being. Such individuals are melodramatic since they want to be heard. In addition to that, people suffering from a histrionic type of disorder could dress appealingly and may behave in an incredibly charming manner in attempts to seek attention. When dealing with others, people with a theatrical kind of disease may be not being sincere; that could lead to a relationship ruin eventually. Additionally, these individuals fear failure and criticisms.
Narcissistic personality disorder is the seventh type of personality disorder whereby an individual may experience high feelings of importance on oneself and require being admired. Such people could be envious of other people and tend to lack empathy as well (Ten Have et al., 2016). The eighth type of personality disorder is the avoidant PD have low self-esteem in that some of them lack believe that they are not accepted socially. As a result, the individuals consider themselves as inferior beings. People with avoidant PD tend to avoid meeting other people unless they are confident of being liked. Such a personality disorder could lead to thoughts of rejection hence causing lonely feelings.
The dependent personality disorder is the ninth type of personality disorder. People suffering from the disorder often need constant care since they lack confidence in themselves. Such people require assistance while making decisions and tend to fear abandonment as well. An individual suffering from this disorder views themselves as being helpless and inadequate. In most cases, people with the dependent type of personality disorder end up suffering from the avoidant disorder (McCarter et al., 2016). Moreover, such individuals are naïve and have a personality that can be described to be child-like. Due to the way in which people with this disorder are dependent, they could be subjected to abuse and misuse quickly. The last type of personality disorder is the anankastic PD and people suffering from this order may be referred to as perfectionists. Such people often pay attention to details in an extreme manner preventing the accomplishment of a task. Most people suffering from this disorder are doubtful and controlling at times.
In conclusion, this paper focuses on various personality disorders. The term personality disorder has been defined in this article as a group of mental illnesses. Such people are faced with a variety of stresses while trying to cope with the day-to-day occurrences. In this paper, ten types of personality disorder have been discussed that are characterized by different symptoms. Besides that, the causative factors of some of the personality disorder have been highlighted such as the borderline personality disorder that could result from sexual and child abuse. In addition to that, some of the personality disorders listed above can advance into another disorder. For example, the dependence theory can eventually become the avoidant disorder that is quite an advanced form of personality disorder.
