One of the major interests in psychology is the study of Personality. Numerous personality theories have been developed, all of which can be categorized into four major categories namely: Psychoanalytic Perspective, Humanistic Perspective, Trait Perspective, Social Cognitive Perspective. All the theories explain how different patterns in personality differ from one person to another. No perspective has any explanatory powers over all the others. The various theories that attempt to explain personality perspectives sometimes contradict one another. The opinions also overlap and build upon each other. The different ideas expressed in the different theories help us understand and come up with practical solutions to challenges that may prevent us from having a healthy mind and body.

My view is the early childhood experiences, and the unconscious mind significantly influences our adult-life personality (Carver, 2016). It's in my perspective that conditions a child are exposed to substantially tame him on how to deal with the situations and influence their behavior later in life.

I concur with Sigmund Freud's view on his perspective of personality. He explains the essence of Childhood events. He further proves that our sexual incidents and personality are built and influenced by the events of our early lives. Erik Erikson further supports this theory. Eric argues that the entire lifespan of a personality is shaped by the Social elements that an individual is exposed to during early childhood.

I disagree with Carl Roger's view on his perspective on personality. He explains that it is inherent of people to attend psychological growth out of the free will (Carver, 2016). Carl Rogers believes that a hierarchy of needs motivates individuals' personalities.

So many psychological perspectives have been developed, and one might wonder whether others are right or wrong. In my viewpoint, no psychological perspective is right or wrong. Most of the theories both display strengths and weaknesses.
