Personality is a set of characteristics that are unique to an individual and determines the pattern of engagement in the work environment. These traits are essential in the selection of persons suitable for the right people in any job as they cannot only damage but also can build a company. Managers are to hire persons with compatible traits to the career opportunity they offer, as these characteristics are responsible for how they react to uncertainty, put in extra effort to accomplish their work and determine how they behave at work. They draw a comparison between stability in thinking, acting, and management of feelings to a wide range of situations 

Emergency medical technicians (EMT) are to go through personality screening as this profession relies majorly on the type of person concerning sensitivity to problem, reason, verbal comprehension, attention to memory and visualization to perform efficiently in their jobs. Personality screening analyses the stability and reliability of persons in handling challenging life problems and conditions.

As much as Personality screening is essential, it bears a negative side associated with it that makes it unpopular and ineffective in the hiring of EMT. Issues to do with controversies in human resource personnel, who are involved in the analysis of personality tests, are drawbacks in the process as a majority easily alter results to favor and affect the outcome. 

Besides, trait selection in buyers, as characters sought by an employer may not be definite as may neither rely on the personal response from the applicant nor the required characteristic, as both answers to these questions may be incorrect. In the case where applicants are undergoing observation, trait evaluation is to be according to a brief conversation which disregards cognitive measure is as it depends on the mood of both persons; as a result, it offers inaccurate predictable outcomes based on the person instead of their traits.
