Art can be used as a way of expressing the culture of a group of people. Appreciating arts from different cultures is an indication of cultural diversity and learning from different groups of people. Each piece of art holds a different message, depending on the creator or the reason behind its creation. Art can be used as a way of educating and learning from different parts of the world. I have selected three types of art pieces depending on the type of work (Wagner & Veloso, 2019). The selection method was based on the materials used the idea behind creation of the piece and time when the piece was created. The three pieces will be used to create a better understand of the transition of art and appreciation of art and how it shows cultural diversity.
The first piece that I chose is a landscape. La Collina Dei Papaveri was created by Guido Borelli. It is a piece expressing autumn season when the flowers are blossoming, and everything appears beautiful. It is a period which is appreciated by every person in the world, and they enjoy it due to the beauty of nature and the sunlight. Since nature related to every culture, this piece of art shows cultural diversity as everyone will understand the message being sent. It will also be appreciated by the individuals living in the polar ends as they wish they had the autumn season to enjoy the sun and the beauty of flowers.

The next piece I selected is graffiti expressing spider man, a superhero appreciated throughout the world. The piece of art can be recognized by both the elderly and the children because it is filmed as both a movie and a cartoon. The piece of art creates hope for people about a superhero being who can save them when experiencing bad times.
The last piece was an outdoor art Known as Kelpies, which was made by Night Falkirk. The piece shows two heads of horses, which is an indication of power. The piece may be understood by those in power but can also relate to wealth in some cultures since horses are known to be owned by wealthy individuals. The piece is not common to most cultures, and people are required to learn more about them to understand their meaning. The piece can be seen by any person because it an outdoor art thus promoting diversity.
Analyzing the three pieces has enlarged my understanding of the way art transcends time and culture. There was a time when art was valued and could only be exhibited in specific places or placed in galleries. It can be seen with the oldest piece, which is the La Collina Dei Papaveri, found in Studio Ghibli. It means that it is not accessible to any person. However, more people have taken an interest in art as a way of sending a message as seen with graffiti, which is painted on walls, and any person can access it. Outdoor art is also available to the public though it is mostly specific to a culture or related to a place and cultural beliefs. Therefore, an individual requires to indulge more in the culture to learn about the art as seen with the Kelpies, where horses are used as a representative of power, status, and material wealth.
Learning about the visual arts has helped in fostering a deeper appreciation of other cultures. The culture of the superheroes, for example, where both the adults and the children use the graffiti of spider man. It is not only about films associated with the spider man but is a way of life for some people. Some individuals believe that there are superheroes who will save them when in need. The piece also helped me understand different ways in which people live. The landscape image shows autumn, yet some people live in the polar ends and never experience the beauty of the sun and the flowers blossoming. It helps learn about weather changes in different parts of the world. The image of horses helps appreciate the difference in uses of objects, animals, and beliefs associated with them. Some cultures consider horses as a source of pride while others see them as mare wild animals.
Cultural diversity plans a large role in art and society. It is a way of promoting peace, business, and integration among people. The individuals who live in the polar region, for example, will end up traveling to areas where autumn is experienced so that they can enjoy the sun and beauty of flowers as exhibited by La Collina Dei Papaveri. People from different parts of the work will also visit Kelpies and enjoy the beauty of the image. As people move around the world and tour other places, business is being developed, and the local people end up benefiting (Freedman, 2003). Different cultures also come together in art exhibitions, and share their ideas, learn to appreciate each other, integrate and peace is promoted in the process. Therefore, visual arts and exhibitions where necessary should be encouraged throughout the world.
