The current society is such that every individual is concerned with immersing so much wealth for themselves that it does not matter anymore the methods used to achieve the same. Businesspeople and world leaders have moved from exploiting their subjects through unscrupulous systems of operations to exploiting nature. Companies are clearing natural forests and reserves everywhere one looks to make room for their businesses. More factories are channeling their waste into large and small water bodies, threatening the lives and existence of the animals living in the said bodies. Now more than ever, cases of global warming and climate change have become an issue of concern on the global stage. However, the question of the planetary boundary could be this generation's only hope, providing the much-needed answer to the relation between man and the natural environment. The planetary boundary has a concept that provides the practical framework on the relationship between humanity and nature, helping individuals put in place mechanisms to guide the extent to which they exploit nature.

Biblically speaking, after creation, God charged humanity with the divine task of taking care of the environment and all the plants and animals in it. Taking care of nature is not only a job people take up out of personal courtesy or initiative, but rather it should be a fulfillment of the directive from the divine creator. However, with the increased individualism and capitalism, in his quest to acquire more wealth and prosperity for himself, man has abandoned the need to obey the directive by God. Planetary boundary, therefore, as a concept, is a critical tool in aligning individuals with the need to take care of the environment, as directed by God. The idea of boundaries emphasizes the need to draw a line between how far people should go in exploiting nature and when they should start preserving the environment to ensure its maximum potential.

Although it is advocated for mainly on scientific reasons, planetary boundaries are a critical tool in ensuring the call by God to take of the environment so that humanity may benefit fully from its products. Due to the trends in exploiting nature, issues such as global warming have come up, which have ultimately interfered with rain patterns, leading to climate change. Climate change is when a given geographical area experiences some climate they should not be experiencing; for instance, the lack of rain in rain-prone regions of the world. By observing the planetary boundaries, that is, the need to put in place mechanisms to reduce the exploitation of nature, the initiative can retain these geographical characteristics, ensuring that issues such as rain patterns are upheld, thus averting climate change. By preventing global warming and climate change in this perspective, planetary boundaries enable humanity to carry on the divine directive to protect nature.

Planetary boundaries also do a great job of establishing mechanisms that guide human development going forward. In as much as the concept is geared towards rectifying the harm that has already been done onto the environment, it also puts in place mechanisms that guide future relations with the situation. For instance, the concept has been able to put up recommendations that must be adhered to when setting up factories in given locations, channeling their waste. These kinds of suggestions and stipulations are instrumental in ensuring that individuals and businesses act out of the common good of the environment in which they live. When setting up corporations, people are guided on how they should interact with nature in such a manner that ensures they do not introduce toxins into the atmosphere, while at the same time allowing them to utilize some of the naturally occurring resources.

Allowing people to utilize naturally occurring resources while at the same time protecting their existence is part of God's plan for humanity as far as their interaction with the environment goes. When He allows the first human in the Bible to eat of the fruits given to him, as well as the herbs and animals he is assigned to protect, God charges them with responsible exploitation of nature. The planetary boundaries concept, to this extent, agrees with God and seeks to carry on the same initiative. The idea thus provides guidelines on how people can use such resources as rivers, forests, and land in a responsible way to ensure their existence is still protected and preserved for the use by generations to come. In particular, guidelines on timber harvesting through the reforestation process have helped ensure that the earth does not run out of forests, leading to issues of desert formation.

In conclusion, to a great extent, the planetary boundaries concept agrees with the divine directive by God on the interaction humanity is supposed to have with the environment. God's will is for His people to be able to exploit nature to help them in their livelihood while at the same time preserving what is left of it for the generation s to come. The boundaries concept does not overlook this need, and neither does it restrict the exploitation of natural resources. Instead, the idea provides a clear stipulation of the limits such processes should go and the steps that should be taken to compensate for that which people take out of nature. By so doing, the concept seeks to create and maintain a balance between the need to utilize the environment for survival purposes, and the need to preserve nature to avert such global warming and climate change calamities such as the formation of deserts and erosion.
