Throughout the course, we have attempted to study theology based on the life of Jesus Christ and his ministries. The prompt is, therefore, a continuation of the life of Jesus focusing on significant events in his life that formed the foundation of Christian practice today. The Christian liturgy is primarily founded on the passion, death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. These sequential events played a significant role in the redemption of the world. Therefore, the prompt makes it significantly clear that it seeks to relate the Christian practices today with the real-life events of Jesus Christ. In class, our focus has been mainly on how Jesus fulfilled his role as predicted in the Old Testament books. The prompt is, therefore, a reflection on how these events have become so monumental to the life of Christians who continue to observe them on a continuous basis. The selection of this prompt is in line with the need to understand how people can relate their lives to that of Christ. It is an explanation of how the modern-day liturgical practices provide Christians with the much-needed presence of Christ and a fulfillment of the instruction made by Jesus during his ascension.

I believe that this prompt aims at providing us with the symbolic meaning of the life of Christ. The Christian liturgy today is a reflection of the significant events that shaped the life. From the prompt, I can also conclude that we are invited as Christians to make meaning out of the suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. I believe that the prompt is essential because, through it, I have appreciated the meaning of several Christian observations, celebrations and holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and the breaking of the bread amongst others. I also think that the prompt aims at emphasizing and strengthening Christian faith. It asks Christians to believe that their practices have a deeper meaning and also a continuation of the life of Christ on earth albeit symbolic. Most fundamentally, it is a comparison between the contemporary Christian life and the life of Jesus. I also think that the prompt is simply an educative text that can apply to Christians and non-Christians alike. It provides a reason to anybody willing to understand why Christians pray on Sundays or why Catholics observe the breaking of the bread during their liturgical celebrations. In essence, the prompt is a multifaceted representation of our inner relationship with Christ.

I find the teachings in the prompt increasingly applicable in my life. First, I am a practicing Christian who not only beliefs but observes the Sabbath and other significant days for Christians such as Easter. Therefore, it is important to note that the prompt has assisted me in viewing these events through a new perspective. I am in a position to decipher every single ritual I observed in Church every Sunday and most importantly, I appreciate how it connects me to Christ. My reflection on this topic has not changed my belief but rather strengthened them. I can now explain what the birth, baptism, suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ into heaven means to me as a Christian. As I mentioned earlier, the prompt has had an educative value as it has given me reasons for many Christian observations I did not hold before. Coupled with the class materials, I believe that I am well-equipped to challenge any contrary opinion and also explain to anybody who does not understand the essence of any Christian practice.
