Politics plays a significant role in pervasive areas in society, such as the provision of health care services. Unfortunately, political difficulties emerge in this process, delaying or making policy change almost impossible.

Political Difficulties in Creating Policy Change in Health Care

Politics is an integral factor that determines how policymakers and citizens recognize and define problems depending on the existing policies and social conditions. However, it generates multiple challenges in policy change and implementation because it is not an individual endeavor, but collective action (Bhattacharya, 2013). The parties involved do not want to make moral judgments, which include addressing the causes of the health care provision problems by holding individual leaders responsible (DiNitto, 2015). Additionally, federal governments permit specific policies, undermining the nearby state's interests. The political environment created as a result leads to crumbling services.

American System of Government

The American Government System comprises federal, state, tribal, and local administrations that protect, preserve, and promote the United States' health and safety. The national government has the legislative branch, which makes health policies (Böckenförde et al., 2011). It is advantageous because it further allocates the implementation resources. With the help of agencies and health departments, the executive branch establishes health regulations that enforce the said policies (Institute of Medicine (U.S.), 2011). The judiciary's role in interpreting the law and resolving legal disputes. However, this system reinforces undemocratic practices and injustice, despite having separate powers.

Social Welfare Advocacy

Social welfare advocacy plays a role in clinical psychology because it provides a multi-level framework for clinical psychologists to identify core mental health problems and solve them.

Conclusion

As science identifies solutions to public health problems such as disability, diseases, and death, politics possess the power to turn most of these resolutions into reality through changing policies. It facilitates specific public health interventions with the help of public health professionals. This process has challenges that affect the entire nation.
