The main political ideologies within which individuals fall are the democrats or the republicans. The difference between these ideologies lies in their policies. First, the democrats believe that tax cuts should only apply to low and middle-income households whereas republicans believe that every individual, no matter their social class, should be taxed. Secondly, the two differ in their opinions on social issues (Guidoni, 2019) . Republicans tend to take a conservative approach whereas democrats are more liberal. On matters social programs, democrats believe that the government should help every vulnerable person in every way whereas republicans believe that the government should only take care of essential things and not involve itself in social programs.
At first, I thought I thought my ideologies were more aligned to those of democrats until I carefully read about the differences between the democrats and republicans. Being more informed, I have realized that I am more of a republican. I was brought up in a conservative family and, over time, my values are radically conservative. For political success in the future, I think more people need to go the republican way. The democratic ideologies may sound fancy at first but then they give too much liberalism to the extent that a democratic government with an unreasonable leader may tamper with the value system of the nation. I believe that more people see this and that the number of people aligned with the republican ideology is continuously increasing over time.

The republican ideological group heavily impacts political parties as statistics prove that it is one of the two most recognized ideologies in the United States. In the last election, the Republicans won the election although most people voted for the democrats (Law, 2019) . However, the republican leader is becoming less popular and this may negatively affect the chances of the republicans winning the next elections.
