There are a number of revelations as pertains to the prenatal development. First, it can be asserted that maternal psychological distress during the period of pregnancy affects fetal development. There is essence in reviewing the stress during the time of pregnancy as this has been found to be one of the contributing factors in interference with the development of the fetus. Again increased maternal stress leads to the elevation of the secretion of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) which leads to an increase in glucocorticoids which affects the development of the fetus (Henrichs et al, 2010). It becomes apparent that psychological makeup is directly proportional to fetal development which if not put into consideration may result in deterrent in the development of the fetus.
In the scientific study of psychological development, there are factors which can be noted. The factors considered are the logical flow of information starting with the topic which entails the variables. These variables are grouped into either independent or dependent variables. This is followed by an introduction which describes the subjects and possibly the variables. It is of importance to note that in a scientific study, the methodology is significant as it defines the direction that the study will take. In this section, the methodology describes the subjects and the population which is involved. On the same point, there is the method of data collection which describes in details the characteristics of the population. The discussion section which is followed by a conclusion part which focuses on the assertion of the hypothesis or disapproval. It is learned from the scientific study that there is an analysis of information in accordance with set up rules which are likely to endorse the validity of the results.
