Over the past years, the world has experienced many disasters, and even in the present it is still subjected to severe problems which are raising huge global issues. These risks are mainly classified into economic, environmental, political, and social problems. These problems are causing negative effects across the whole world and if not recognized and solved their consequences could be dangerous to the future existence. Government is already trying to put an end to these problems but we should also help in solving these issues.
To begin with, terrorism is one of the problems facing the world. A report from the Global Terrorism Database shows that attacks from terrorists has increased the number of deaths since 2012 across the world (Sperry, 2016). One of the major causes of terrorism is ethnicity and undemocratic governments. Most people mostly in the Islamic countries are living in fear. Most of the Islamist terrorist groups commit these crimes by using religion to justify their actions. Islamic jihadists are even killing their own that do not follow their rules. People are receiving many reports all over the world about bombings, kidnapping and other terrifying behaviours by the terrorists.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Many are living in fear, and are looking for solutions from the Congress and the president. First, solve this issue of terrorism; the government should prevent terrorists travel. There is the airport screening but more digging of information is important. Potential terrorists and suspicious travellers should be investigated carefully by the law enforcement and intelligence analysts before they take a flight. The U.S. government should continue providing necessary support to NATO to prevent terrorist attackers such as the Taliban from coming back. There should be a lawful interrogation and detainment framework of the terrorists. Detaining people who have participated in opponent war actions from the congress authorization until hostility ends is another way ending terrorism.
The second major threat is the global and climatic change is in the world today. The earth is warming up and human activities such release of greenhouse gases and combustion of fossil fuels are the main causes. Reports from scientists suggests that climate changes are causing rise in world’s temperature, rise of the sea levels or even melting of the mountains which eventually destroys the habitat of humans. Global warming causes a negative effect on the adaptability of most ecosystems such as the arctic where the polar bears are finding it challenging adapting to the climate changes. Many humans lack accessible sources of water or food which alleviates starvation. Global climatic changes causes negative impacts such as water crisis, hunger and in some parts of the world poverty. Scarcity of water means most of the businesses such as manufacturing or farming will not run thus there is no financial activity which results to poverty (Shah, 2015).
There is no person who wants to live in a dangerous world with droughts, heat waves or floods. Solving climate change will have many benefits; environmental, economic and, health benefits. Human activities such as reusing energy resources, foregoing fossil fuels, reducing gas emissions from green houses, and reducing the cutting down of trees will help solve the issue of global warming. These activities will repower the society with clean air and promote energy independence.
Global changes are posing as a major threat to our economy and healthy. Power plants are the major contribution of the carbon dioxide emissions which are contributing to these changes. The president suggested the use of clean power plan to solve the issue of global warming which reduces emission of carbon dioxide from power plants (Malloy and Serfaty, 2015). This proposal suggests the use of wind and solar energy as the source of electricity in place of coal-burning. The clean power will protect the climate and the health of the people.
Lastly the underemployment and high unemployment levels are some of the major problems facing the world today with over 73 billion people in the world having no jobs. Unemployment problem is not only facing third world countries but it is affecting the whole world with so many people struggling to secure a job. Major unemployment issues especially among young members of the society stars social predicaments such as insecurity and hopelessness.
President Obama has addressed new reforms that will help solve the issues of unemployment. He suggests the expansion of the economic security of the Americans. This proposal will increase the opportunities of part time and temporary jobs. This prevents job losses and highly supports job sharing for the underemployment. The proposal also supports the unemployed group by improving their unemployment insurance system. This proposal will allow workers obtain wage insurance and receive benefits while looking for new jobs in case they lose their previous jobs. A worker is likely to transition faster out of unemployment when they are provided with wage insurance. The unemployment insurance system helps ends meet for people who lose their jobs while waiting to secure another one (Korte, 2016).
The president also suggests on providing training programs to the unemployed group which will help them in securing a new and better job. This training will help people from losing their jobs when they secure on since they will perform well in their work of place. The proposal of offering training will provide necessary information to the unemployed group and thus make good choices when looking for a job.
Conclusion
The above problems are some of the major ones affecting the world today; there are others such as wars and political instability. As much as we are waiting for the congress and the president to solve these issues, we should also unite to solve them as this world is ours to live in. one of the best solution in solving these issues is to hold awareness campaigns and at the same time run national and international projects that will help in making the world a better place to live in.
