Professional and Student Affairs Development Plan

The professional and student affairs development plan will focus on addressing various aspects of The Champions University. The university is a new establishment that will focus on the provision of education and extracurricular programs for a wide range of students with passion and different abilities. The university will be a privately owned entity, which will operate on a semester-based academic calendar.

Mission Statement 

The mission of The Champions University is to provide a learning opportunity to local and international students and ensure that they obtain values, skills, and knowledge that can impact the world.

Divisions/Departments 

Champions University will have different departments that will be devoted to a wide range of academic disciplines. The departments will include, Anthropology, Bioengineering, Computer Science, English, Environmental Science, History, Art, and Architecture, Linguistic, Mathematics, Business, Political Science, among others. Each department will have a team of qualified personnel that will have the mandate to define the key operations that will be undertaken. The department will have a set of goals and objectives that align with the mission of the university.

Budgeting 

In the establishment process of a University, it is important to focus on defining a budget that provides an outline of the costs that would be incurred. For The Champions University, each department will have a well-defined budget that will address all the financial needs required to promote success. Considering that the University will have approximately 50 departments, the heads of the departments will create a team of professionals that will engage in planning a budget that focuses on the needs and other requirements needed for success in running different programs. The departmental budget will include costs required to run programs including factors such as infrastructure, equipment, and other financial costs. The departmental budget will have a significant role in defining the overall budget required for the effective establishment of the university. The most important aspect that is required during budgeting involves the implementation of proper planning and analysis skills to help in forecasting financial aspects that may be required to run each department in a university.

Staffing Needs 

The Champions University will engage in the hiring process of eligible candidates for different positions required in the university. Considering that it is a new establishment, it is necessary to capitalize on the analysis of the staffing needs by focusing on the departments created. The management of the university will focus on engaging in a strategic staffing plan process that will involve assessing and identification of the personnel needs. When developing a strategic staffing plan, it is important to understand that hiring the appropriate employees in an organization plays a vital role in defining the level of productivity that may be experienced. In this case, the staffing process requires to identify candidates with adequate experience working in a learning institution and those with skills and passion to work with different kinds of students.
