I identify as a White or Caucasian individual with parents that are in the upper part of the middle-class division. Our family identifies as Christians in the religious aspect. Politically I recognize the Republicans, however, politics is not in any of my preferences. I have grown up in a loving family that made sure that I at least have my basic needs. Growing up as a Caucasian had its challenges that have greatly influenced my outcomes. Besides my race, gender and social class differences have had an impact on my life outcomes.

Change, as we can all appreciate is never easy, and might be difficult owing to the introduction to another culture and a new instructive framework. However, this experience also helped me in evolving my state of mind. People like to assume that race, class, and gender do not matter in this world and that people do not discriminate anymore. In my experience, I believe they are wrong and diversity affects us because of our judgmental human nature. Personally, as much as race does not affect me I am deeply hurt by the imminent discrimination of minority cultures such as Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, among others (McConatha, 2016). When it comes to social class, I grew up in a middle-class home, therefore, I am not affected by it either. Finally, gender roles have a slight impact due to the limitations that hinder me from doing certain things.

Through my experiences and motivation, I have tried to drive my profession in a more altruistic and activist direction. I believe it is wrong and unethical to discriminate against others based on race, social class, and gender among others. Conversely, I believe that we should appreciate ourselves and others coz we are God's creation. Those who were different from me greatly impacted my life. For instance, I have had an encounter with teachers, doctors, business people, and friends from diverse, thriving communities. Such individuals have almost always positively influenced my life in one way or another.

In conclusion, discrimination is wrong, unfair, and unethical for the affected communities. The world is full of good and bad people, and it is the bad people who create the horrible stereotypes associated with race, social class, and gender (McEnhill, 2018). In my capacity, I would like to utilize and share my understanding and life battles as a stage to motivate, empower and enable individuals that are affected by discrimination. In the end, we all desire a fair, peaceful, and harmonious world.
