Freud's theory was influenced by the era he lived in different ways. Freud indicated that his actions were determined by the desires and fears he faced resulting in opening an unconscious part, which he tries to explain using psychoanalytic. Freud believes that his life and that of his followers were shaped by forces they did not recognize. Freud worked as a neurologist which triggered the unconscious fascination. He dealt with different cases where he found symptoms that did not behave depending on the dictation by anatomy (Sigmund Freud - Full Biography, 2017). It can be seen that Freud’s work had a large influence on the psychoanalytic theory.
Freud’s theory can be seen in the modern era especially in the development of children from birth to adulthood. From birth to one and a half years, the oral stage is seen in all children, where they try to eat anything they come in contact with. Most children learn through breastfeeding whether from the mother or artificially. Young ones from the age of1.5 years to three, start to learn how to control their bladder and bowel movement. The other stages also, phallic, latency and genital fit the description of the development of children. Therefore, the theory can still be used to explain the behavior of children.

Psychodynamic theory is essential in understanding personality since some behavior may occur when a person is conscious and others during the unconscious time. When learning the levels of the mind of human beings, the unconscious state is associated with ego while the conscious state is related to superego (Psyche, 2018). A person can be egocentric without their knowledge, but when they are superego, the mind is awake and guiding the person.
