There is no doubt that parents have a significant influence on their children. Another clear fact is that the genetic make-up of a child can cause a great effect on the character and behaviours of the child as well as how they are treated by their parents. In most studies, the adoption and twin techniques have been implemented in the estimation of determining the strength of such genetic consequences. However, estimating such heritability in specific traits tend to vary when compared to different samples; this makes no estimates to be addressed as definitive.

In most circumstances, people have always wondered what could be the forces that drive this period of how and when children can change as they grow into adulthood. Can the process of development be used a center mark for determining the specific outcome in a child, especially when speaking about maturity? Similarly, what conditions can stand out in the estimation of knowing the rates of development among children. Such and many more of these questions have emerged at the roots of the basis of development psychology in figuring out the possibilities of the associated field. In approaching such matters, the interplay between the full forces of nurture and nature has appeared to be a central concern. Through such findings, it has been evident that most children can learn plenty of things as they engage in their daily routines and as they also interact with their social and physical world.

Most correlated findings have stated that there is a connection between children attributes and parenting. For instance, according to Baumrind’s analysis, those children who have those parents that are entirely firm and responsive will display more competence and cooperation when compared to those children whose parents appear to possess a permissive character. Despite the several studies concerning adulthood, both the environmental and genetic influence in association with the personality on the period of middle childhood has not undergone full exploration. More specifically, there is little information concerning the disposition of self-perception association with children’s development.

According to one study that emphasizes the relationship between the five-factor model and personality claims that an attachment bond directed towards a parent can keep the infant in a secure environment. Besides, it can also offer other advantages in association with the psychological development of the child. Despite the presence of empirical evidence that supports the integration between the social functioning and the attachment protection, there has been no clear evidence on whether such childhood attachments can have a significant influence on the social functioning that exceeds the adolescent stage. Moreover, other analysis that were conducted on this field proved that birth position could entirely influence the behaviour and personality of an individual (Rohrer, Egloff & Schmukle, 2017). This demonstrates why most firstborn are perceived to be more responsible and role models to the other siblings.

Research design

An in-depth focus on the analysis of this parenting effect on children behaviour required the implementation of phenotypic confirmatory factor analysis to help in addressing the five-factor personality measure that involved Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, Agreeableness, Extraversion, and Openness. This investigation provided a piece of evidence supporting that genetic factors were main contributors to stability while environmental aspects influenced change. Also, openness and extraversion were noted as those personality aspects that have a close connection to attachments. This study had an intent of proving that those individuals who had attachment security were in a position of confidently engaging with the social society as compared to those children who had attachment insecurity.

In addressing this data, a strategic question could be used as a solution for this data. Such a question could include to what extent people should conceive the attachment construct. In an argument of such a discussion, when linking the association between personality and attachments, the concept can be better understood by shifting the focus on how people relate, regulation of emotions, and the exploration of the surrounding. The mentioned concepts have a strong connection to the theme of attachment. However they can also be put into consideration of the five-factor measurement. This means that those individuals researching on personality should put much focus on the process of development rather than focusing on the traits. According to the results found from this investigation, there is explicit information suggesting that nurture has a partial influence on adulthood personality, as it is also similar to the attachment.

To meet the ethical requirements while performing this research, the research team will immediately seek permission from the dean of students , since most of the participants will be a group of college students and educators from different universities. This means each participant will issue a written consent that meets the policies outlined by the ethical code of conduct. Such adherence will help the team in obtaining data that is more valid and reliable while conducting the research.
