When conducting a study on the role of a specialist nurse in community care, the most appropriate method is the use of case studies. Case studies are considered the best because, in the healthcare setting, it has a range of uses. For instance, case studies will focus on the outcomes of the clinical nurse specialist because they provide a good source of ideas about behavior. The participant's inclusion criteria should be established upfront based on the purpose of the study. The best approach is the use of nomination, where key individuals are nominating people who are believed to make good participants. The nominated individuals will be familiar with the phenomenon under investigation and will be known for their ability to respectfully share their views by volunteering.
