In research, there are different methodologies which can be applied in analyzing the effectiveness of the interventions applied to a problem in a given setting. In most of the research approaches, the question of arrangement quantity and case arrangement should be put into consideration (Gog, 2015). There are two major research designs and they include single case research design and group research designs. This is an essay which entails a discussion on the comparison of single case and group research designs.

In the comparison of group research design and Single-Case Research Design (SCRD), it should be put into consideration that each design method applies components of scientific approach. Major contrast witnessed between the group research design and SCRD is that for the latter, there is focus on the evidence-based research questions on how, when and why there is change and why the change actually happens. In addition, the single case research employs preliminary logics and emphasizes their focus on the individual variables or samples with an aim of examining the effectiveness of the applied intervention. In contrary, group designs use more individuals who are later separated and later sampled randomly assigned to more study conditions (Baer, Wolf, & Risley, 1968). Also, group designs are mitigated in that the sample and the participants are not given exposure to the independent variables and interventions or treatment approaches. On the same note, in SRCD designs individual participants serve as their own control measures. Again, the participants are exposed to intervention conditions and control conditions mostly referred to as the baseline.

There are exactly seven dimensions applied in the behavior analysis. These are aimed at finding the change and correlations between the variables under the study and the behaviors in questions. For the behavior dimension, there is a focus on the studied behavior which needs to be transformed. The conceptual dimension focuses on approaches applied to change the identified behavior. Technological dimension is exposed to replication that’s what makes it distinctive among the dimensions. Then there is the effective dimension which is giving the indication as to whether the intervention applied effected change as was predicted at the start of the study. Important among the dimensions is the generality dimension which is aimed at determining whether behavior change after the approaches and treatments can be replicated in different settings (Baer et al., 1968). It is important to put into consideration that SCRD integrates both the practices and research through scientific practices and services.
