One of the strengths noted in the paper is that you have identified that the job of a sports manager is very challenging. It requires an individual that is well-qualified to handle the job. A study done by Ciftci and Mirzeoglu (2014), showed that sports managers need a variety of skills including interpersonal relations, decision making, personal qualities, and knowledge. Apart from giving this notification, you have also provided a solution. You suggest that the sports manager should research on the law and how the entire business of protecting brand works. You have also suggested that they should have a consultant to help them with the process, which I completely agree with.
With such a challenging task, sports managers are bound to face various tests. One of the tests, which you have mentioned in your post, is that they may be tempted to promote their brands or products. However, you have not suggested a proper solution or a way of helping them avoid or overcome this test. One of the ways that I believe would help is by allowing the managers to have shares in the organization. Managers can make contributions through their skills and expertise, money, or capital. Once an individual has invested in the organization, their main interest becomes working towards improving the profits. This is the best way to curb the weaknesses since the manager becomes part-owner of the organization. According to Kamardin (2014), ownership encourages monitoring.
