Good leadership is essential for any form of business. The ability to have a great idea and implement is serves as the first step in creating a successful company. I would classify Richard Branson as a leader based on a number of distinguished characteristics. He has encouraged and pushed his employees to reach their full potential. When his employee requested advice from him, Richard encouraged her to form a bridal line and he even publicized for the company. Many of the businesses Richard has started have all been established by identifying the opportunity in the market and fully exploiting them. Upon identification of opportunities in the market, Richard then assembles a team that ensures the organizational goals are achieved. Richard is also visionary in his projects. Apart from that, his employees are encouraged to be creative. 

The relationship between Branson and his followers is great. He encourages them to exploit some of their business ventures by not only listening to their ideas, but also investing in the identified ideas. Richard’s followers have also been identified to be very passionate in all his work. Thus, through his exploration on their passion, he has managed to mentor many businessmen and business women. Additionally, Richard has encouraged his followers to always be creative and explore whatever they desire and intrigues them. Some of the myths that Richard has disproved are leaders are designed from birth or by the title they have been assigned in the company or that great leaders work best alone. Leadership is all about getting the desired results and not the people. The leaders are expected to have all the answers and leadership is only successful when failure is not an option. In summary, under Richards’s leadership both employees and the followers have had the ability to fully execute their abilities.
