Psychological Effects: Individual gets a place in the culture (Identity v Role Confusion)

Erik Erikson’s theory of adolescent development describes how a psychosocial crisis can lead to fidelity in interpersonal. In the theory an adolescent can get to a point in which they get to k now their identity. In this case an individual will be able to who they really are and what they believe in; on the contrary if an individual gets role confusion they will not be sure of what they want in life or what they believe in. for instance if an individual to rebel against parents, changing behaviors and resisting what they are being taught that means he or she is experiencing psychological effects of role confusion (Cherry, 2015). However, if an individual has discovered their identity they will be able to follow expectations and guidance of the parents and the educators.

Bonds between members of the culture (Intimacy v Isolation)

This is a psychological aspect that is experienced by people who are in ages 19 to 40. In this stage people are in crisis associated with intimacy, love, relationships. Erikson suggested that people who succeed in this crisis they tend to develop in matters of intimacy, love and relationships (Dunkel, & Harbke, 2017). When one is successful in these aspects he or she will be able to establish bonds with members of the culture. Those who fail in these relationships they will try to isolate themselves from others and therefore they will not be able to establish bonds with members of the culture. Such people tend to fail in forging relationships with family and friends

Create internal motivation to act on behalf of the group

People in a group tend to establish a sense of belonging to it and therefore they tend to identify with it. When people in a group are motivated they tend to merge with the identity of the group, they will give maximum personal outcomes and those of the group.

Giving incentives and showing appealing values would serve to achieve internal motivation among group members. The incentives and rewards will attract people to the group and help them identify with the group (Dunkel, & Harbke, 2017). Having good values will motivate people in remaining in the group; people will tend to experience freedom and entertainment in such a group.
