Step 1: Existing Uniform Laws and Policies

Ideally, as a result of growing number of district schools, US Departments of education have found necessary to wear a school uniform. The department of education is of the opinion that uniform tends to decrease violence risks, theft and makes it easy to identify intruders in schools. In 2001, the board of Bossier Parish District School enacted a uniform policy. The enacted policies aimed at increasing test performance and reduce disciplinary problems. However, the court of appeal found the uniform policy unconstitutional in the year 2014. The court argued that mottos in the school uniform batches violated student’s rights of expression and dress code choice. Since there are no existing uniform laws and policies in the district, it will be important to consult the district leaders ( McDaniel, 2013) . The leaders will help in assessing the extent to which the implemented school policies will affect constitutional rights of students. As a school board, we will adhere to the legal advice from the district leaders.

Step 2: Responses to the Uniform Policies and Laws

Throughout the discussions with different education stakeholders in the district, the major question was whether there is any research evidence between uniform and performance. Most of the previously conducted research gives mixed results such as misbehavior incidence reduction, student's suspension increase, and others found no significant effect. However, there was a balance between pros and cons implications of the policy. The cost of emerging lawsuits and parents frequent buying of uniform was the major con associated with mandatory school uniform policies ( Hassan and Rasiah, 2017) . Further, the community will likely react and protest violation religious beliefs on attire to some students. Among the cons includes the reduction in discipline issues, attendance improvement and improved academic performance ( Dulin, 2016) .

Step 3: Implementation of the Uniform Policies

In my view, the first strategy is for the district educators to demonstrate the goals that they believe to achieve after mandating school uniforms. Some of the goals to facilitate the procedure include supporting the symbol of academic achievement and commitment. Also, to demonstrate how uniform promotes school brand. In conclusion, I believe school uniforms alone are not sufficient to achieve or sustain a large-scale change. Thus, the policy should be adjusted to fit in the diverse community and be part of broad array program of adopting changes in school ( Bowe and Gold, 2017) .
