Most of my current strengths lie in my motivation to learn. I have chosen to learn and practice social work out of passion and not coercion. Therefore, I am ready to dedicate my time and effort to learn and share in new experiences. I am willing to assume new responsibilities, and most importantly, discover myself and the potential I possess. I anticipate that the practicum will expose me to novel and great experiences. Besides, I am emphatic, caring, and a keen listener. I always believe that listening to other people is the beginning of the process of understanding their problems, hence better problem-solving skills.
Other than the strengths listed in the practicum, I possess excellent communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and like working in a team. In regard to my communication skills, I can describe myself as a negotiator because sometimes I have acted as a mediator in some minor conflicts in my community. For instance, when friends quarrel and even engage in fights in my presence, I quickly control the situation and reunite them. Secondly, before I act, I usually examine the situation to minimize error. Concerning team work, I always believe that brainstorming creates many ideas and solutions to problems. A single person may err but a group evaluates various ideas before choosing the best, hence most social issues require involvement of different parties.

I have learnt that I have the potential to practice social work and become an influential person to the society. I can work in a team, think critically, and demonstrate care; aspects that are very crucial in social work. To secure my future as a prominent social worker, I need to set aside enough time to study and research about the field. Additionally, it is important to participate in discussions and share experiences with peers to prepare better to work in teams.
The main limitations I have are anxiety and little patience. When I face or see a problem, I usually want to start working on it immediately. The anxiety pushes me to doubt my abilities because I fear about the outcome. I am aware that panic may influence adversely how I make decisions or provide solutions to problems. To solve these limitations, I need to read more about the field, as well as engage more with my peers in discussions and debates. That will help me develop the patience to listen to others and confidence through expressing my ideas.
