The human body comprises of six major joints, each having unique classification, particular movement, as well as anatomical position. Starting from the head area downwards, the joints comprise of the following: Trochoididal (pivot joints), Enarthrodia (socket and ball joints), Ginglymus (hinge joints), Condyloidal (ellipsoid joints), Seller (saddle joints), and Arthroidal (gliding joints). On pivot joints, they make it possible for the neck to rotate while based from Superior to Sternum. The socket and ball joints allow the shoulder and the hip to move to all directions and are based anteriorly (hip) and distally (shoulder) to Sternum. For the hinge, joints, they offer several motions while utilizing a single movement of the plane while they are based distally (knee, ankle, and elbow) and anteriorly from Sternum. In the event of the ellipsoid joints, they exist between carpal and wrist bones and allow the bone to move in to axis without any form of rotation while they are based distally and anteriorly from Sternum. Additionally, regarding the saddle joints, they are situated only in the thumb while they facilitate in the movement of the socket and the ball without any rotation while they are based distally and anteriorly from Sternum. Lastly, for gliding joints in the feet and wrist offer a restricted gliding movement while they are both distally and anteriorly located to Sternum.

On the exercises, neck rotations utilize pivot joint. The shoulder’s socket and ball joints facilitate dumbbell exercises with inclines and flats. The hip’s socket and ball joints allow off the floor hip extensions and performing lunges. The hinge joints based in knees assist in performing leg extensions and leg presses. Ellipsoid joints are essential when playing tennis especially when individuals hit the ball. Saddle joints assist people to work out their fingers by spreading their fingers during stretching exercises. Gliding joints help in ankle exercises particularly when performing calf raises. In understanding the function as well as location of the different joints, they will assist me in developing ideal workout initiatives and in assisting my customers in perform workouts properly. On future endeavors, my understanding of joints will deepen my knowledge on how the human body works and apply the awareness as a professional trainer.
