Personal responsibility is individual's obligations that someone has, to ensure that other people perceive them by the personal moral codes. It is personal responsibility to make decisions in life, whether good or bad decisions, therefore, everyone is accountable for the choices they make in life. On the other hand, social responsibility means someone's obligations to the society with the primary goal of benefiting the community.

A touch of sin is the film that has four stories which explore rampant cases of violence and corruption in the present times in China. The first one is about a miner who is angry with the company head, and he ends up taking justice into his hand. Dahai is enraged with the rampant cases of corruption which prompts him to try to fight against it in his workplace. He failed in his struggles to fight against these dominant vice in the system and chose to take action. Dahai knows that he has the responsibility to take care of his society by trying to fight against corruption in his village ( Jia, 2014) . Taking justice into his own hands was a decision he made, but he neglected his social responsibility as people will perceive the actions he took as immoral and not beneficial to the society.

Another story is about the robber who decides to do a job of killing for profit to be able to support his family. With the kind of work that he does he get large amounts of money which he takes to his wife. The decision he made is rationally correct as it is his responsibility to take care of his family. On the other hand, his means of getting money is not socially acceptable. He neglects his social responsibility which is to take care of the community at large. Instead, his job is a threat to people's life. Although he has personal responsibility of preserving his reputation, he chooses to kill for money. The story depicts negligence of personal responsibility as he engages in immoral behaviors.

Lianrong in the fourth story is a lady who indulges herself in prostitution, which is a socially unacceptable vice. She does this to be able to cater for her daily needs. Just like the robber, she thinks whatever she is doing is justifiable since the intentions are clean. This is not true since they fail to know that their actions are not allowed in the society. At the end of the fourth story is about Xiaohui who commits suicide due to pressure from a job and his mother who want him to improve to a better life. Also, he realizes that it is impossible to be in a relationship with Lianrong ( Jia, 2014)

In the case of Xiaohui, his employer seems to be just mean and not to care about the workers but the profits that the employees bring to the organization. The manager does not even show compassion to the worker, but he is just scornful both by use of words and body language ( Jia, 2014) . Being compassionate to others is a sign of social responsibility as well as personal responsibility. Everyone needs to feel at peace with those around them. It is an obligation of every person in the society to take care of one another to make the community a better place for all.
