For long, the topic on cannabis has often been a controversial matter. The debate on the subject of legalizing marijuana has often drawn lots of stakeholders; some of whom are in opposition to the use of cannabis and some of whom are in support of cannabis. The stakeholder’s, many a time, argue based on the basis of validating their point of interest (Ventura, 2016). The stakeholders that are vehemently in support of the medicinal cannabis are them that are affiliated with cannabis farms, dispensaries and the institutions that produce products and information that relate to its use (Ventura, 2016). Some of the agencies that recognize the medicinal rigor of cannabis include the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and The Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The stakeholders that are in opposition to its use are them that our affiliation with the production of pharmaceuticals; and those that financially 

Current Medical/nursing Research 

Since the olden days, cannabis has often been utilized to achieve excitement. Bridgema and Abazia (2017) mentioned that the pressure on cannabis was premised on its medicinal powers on malaria, rheumatism, gout and presumably odd enough absent-mindedness. Cannabis also some health benefits, for example, controlling nausea and vomiting that is orchestrated by chemotherapeutic agents during cancer treatment. In this regard, it is more evident that its usage will continue to rise based on its proof to cure many diseases (Bradford & Bradford, 2016). Despite all mentioned benefits attached to cannabis, the federal government has not yet authorized its usage.

Policy, Legal and Future Practice Implications 

Regardless of the complications related to the logistics of medicinal cannabis usage, the policies that are prohibitive to its medicinal use immensely hurts palliative care and evidently disrupts the effective treatment of chronic and debilitating medical conditions (Choo et al., 2014). The permission for its use can potentially be left in the hands of the federal and state governments. However, there is a possibility of increased abuse, and trafficking when permission for its use is granted.
