The article “Teenagers Say Depression and Anxiety are Major Issues among Their Peers” by Zraick, Karen summarizes research carried out to determine if mental health, alcohol consumption, and teenage pregnancy were major problems in peers. The research involved 920 peers aged 13-17 years in the USA. According to Zraick (2019), the study found out that 70% of teenagers believed that psychological health is a major issue. However, only a few teenagers believed that bullying or drug addiction was a major cause of mental problems, although individuals from low-income areas believed these issues were major problems. In addition, the research analyzed if alcohol consumption and teenage pregnancy was a significant problem among peers. The study found out that about 50% of teenagers from low-income ($30, 000) households believed that alcohol consumption was a problem; this number decreased to 43% in peers from families earning about $75, 000. Regarding pregnancy, about 55% of peers from low-income areas believed it was a major problem, while only 22% of high-income families believed it was a major issue.
