All the three companies are putting more efforts on making the consumer the designer of the design he/she purchases. Nike is the simplest to use due to its wide variety that account to more than 13,000 shoes and makes it easier to develop a design. The essence that the shoe changes as one is designing makes it one of the most enjoyable moment and one is able to see every change made during the process. Nike and Lands’ End designs are free compared to the slight changes in prices in Scion company. Lands’ End is different from Nike in that the consumer does not make the cuts in the designs as it is the case in Nike’s customization. Scion has a relatively less exiting process due to the few car models and less freedom compared to the other two. I believe that Scion and other automotive companies should adopt strategies similar to those used by Nike although the prices would be too high but it would result to higher gains in the long-run.
