A summary of what you learned on any web site(s) you reviewed (3 points).
Strong interest inventory is significant because it helps an individual to achieve satisfaction in their career. As such, they get to identify the career options that are consistent with their interests. Besides, one can choose the appropriate education and training that is relevant for their interests and a focus on their future.
The six types of career personality interest I have learned include the following:
Social benefits involve teamwork, community service and helping. The activities under this career personality include training employees, counseling, and teaching. One must have potential skills like the verbal ability, listening, people skills and showing understanding for situations. Most significant values are cooperation, service to others and generosity.
Enterprising interest: leadership, politics, business, and entrepreneurship. Activities in this section include marketing, selling, and managing. One needs skills like the ability to motivate others, directing others and verbal ability. One must be a risk taker, influential, and have status competition.
Artistic interests: communication, culture, self-expression, and art appreciation. This is someone with creative visual art, a writer and can compose music. One must explore values like the originality of content, imagination, and independence.
Conventional calls for interest in accounting, investment, and information systems and data management. Career activities involve the setting of procedures, record keeping, and computer applications.
The fifth interest is under realistic in that one has to an interest in machines, working outdoors, and computer networking.
Lastly is investigative with interest in science, research, and mathematical problems. Such a person is best in the lab and performing of abstract problems.
What you like/think is interesting and useful in the summarized information, and MOST IMPORTANT: WHY? (3 points)
The striking thing in the summary is that three out of the six interest best works with me. They include social interests, enterprising and artistic interests. In my career life, I would like to work with a team, engage with people daily and assume leadership for the success of the organization I shall be working with. My best areas include human resource and training, office management, performing arts, teaching and culture/ religion/ spirituality. The most interesting is that I can identify my career line from the list of interests. For instance, I can best be a teacher, a counselor or a businessman under management.
What limitations or other critical analysis do you see in the references/information you reviewed, and MOST IMPORTANT: WHY? (4 points)
The limitation I learned from both sources is that they rely on individual occupational themes that can help them identify their career interests. Secondly, there is hardly a consideration for diverse individuals who might be having the potential to be all round in their career. The study does not give evidence of research; maybe they could have used qualitative data collection and analysis method. This way they could have developed the strong scales on a personal interest that can define their career.
