Behavior reduction strategy

This strategy assumes that people’s behaviors are influenced by their environment and the behavior of the people around them. That is why it is encouraged that both parents and teachers should ensure that their behavior around the children is positive. I choose this strategy when it is well implemented, and it brings about positive results.

The strategy should be used immediately after the negative behavior occurs as it will help reduce the chances of the behavior happening again (Thomas, 2013). To get the best results from this strategy, one must ensure they start handling the worst behavior to replace the acceptable ones. one can use this strategy with both individuals and the whole classroom. It is a great strategy to help the student change their negative behaviors.

The Reinforcement strategy

The reinforcement strategy helps students to portray more appropriate behaviors frequently. When they are reinforced for good behavior, they portray them more and reduce the engagement of the negative behaviors.

The strategy can be used to teach a new behavior that is meant to replace an interfering behavior, and it helps in increasing the positive behaviors. Teachers can use this strategy to develop positive behaviors as the behaviors developed by implementing this strategy are essential in changing the social climate in a classroom. The reinforcement strategy can be used by teachers with their students who need behavioral support (Thomas, 2013). This strategy can be used on both the individual and the class at large.

Behavior Intervention strategies

This is a strategy used to help encourage positive behaviors from individuals who are constantly engaged in negative behavior. The strategy includes designing new routines, implementing silent signals and setting expectations, and following up to ensure the individual is doing their part.

I choose this strategy as it I have learned that it minimizes negative behaviors when it is effectively used and brings about a friendly environment for learning. It is also a great strategy that can be used to enhance family interactions.

The strategy is used when trying to prevent or stop misbehavior in a child. How to use the strategy is by establishing a great relationship with the individual without mentioning the negative behavior you want to resolve (Thomas, 2013). The behavior intervention strategy can be used with both individuals and the class at large. This strategy tends to motivate all those who are into negative behaviors to change and become better.

Ideal Behaviour Modelling Strategy

The Ideal behavior modelling strategy entails a teacher demonstrating to a class the bare minimum conduct expected of them. Most studies have acknowledged that students learn to act through a teacher’s modelling (Zirpoli, 2013) . This strategy requires a teacher to demonstrate qualities such as using polite language in class.

This strategy works effectively in building classroom rules and expectations. I choose this strategy as it teaches the students more than just what they are not allowed to do. This strategy also helps build a better and long term foundation for the student’s perception of a teacher.

To execute this strategy, I will hold mock conversations in front of the class to display an example of what is required (Zirpoli, 2013). I will also act in a way that the students learn. I will maintain eye contact, let the students learn uninterrupted and raise concerns about other student’s responses in a respectful manner.

Peer Teaching Management Strategy

In peer teaching strategy, the struggling and disruptive students are engaged and educated by top performers in a class. Students are paired as reading and playing groups. The top performers are most likely to influence the other students into adopting similar behaviours as them.

The peer teaching strategy is essential in helping students with low confidence and self-esteem (Zirpoli, 2013). The students also develop interpersonal skills and also emulate good behaviour in the process. Peer teaching is a good strategy for modelling individual student behaviours. It is also easy to execute once a teacher understands their students.

This strategy is put in place by linking the poorly behaved students with the well-behaved students. Students sit next to each other in class, be playmates during physical education and reading mates.
