Hi Erika, I like exactly how you addressed the video of Morrison’s discussion about difficulties with a personality disorder. You have stated how psychiatrists experience numerous difficulties in attempting to fully understand an individual’s personality types that help to categorize to what extent the person has a disorder. It is true indeed that Morrison finds it difficult to identify a particular personality disorder (Perrotta, 2020). Often, people reveal different personality disorders, which becomes a challenge both to doctors, psychiatrists and counselors. I liked reading through the examples you provided. According to Bruce, it is true that on most occasions, people tend to assume about a particular individual’s personality as a disorder without focusing on the preliminary results. The same scenario applies to police profiling. George’s condition seems to be a lifetime disorder regarding the brutal experiences he narrates to the psychiatrist, reflecting in many individuals with a personality disorder that began from childhood trauma.

Hi Felicia, I am glad you shared your response about Morrison's video. I like how you identified the difficulty for an accurate diagnosis of a mental disorder. Morrison identifies that an individual can have more than one personality disorder, which results in mix-up even to medical and psychology professionals. I am impressed by your use of "categorical disorder" among psychiatrists to a mental disorder patient. Many mental disorder patients are categorized regarding the particular character they impose on their psychiatrist. Indeed, the categorical disorder becomes a challenge, especially when a person introduces a new behavior or disorder that the psychiatrist has never witnessed. Morrison's case example of George indeed reveals the contradictions experienced in categorizing an individual's personality disorder. I mean, despite your categorizing of George as a sociopath, I find it more challenging that he is a father (Johnson, 2019). I enjoyed reading through your response; it is awesome. Great job.
