Apple Incorporation is one of the world's leading computer manufacturers. They are known for their production of the Macintosh and iPhone products for both personal and industrial consumption. Over the years, Apple has been in the limelight for its amazing job opportunities and human resource management hence increasing its rating in the market. However, such was not the case during its initial years, given how the company hired and fired essential personnel, which affected the company both internally and in the market environment.

Apple was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. The two started the company by developing a circuit board in Jobs’ bedroom before moving to their garage. Popularly known as the two Steves, they ventured into the computing world with an ambition to provide computers to the common individual at a time where computing and computer resources were only reserved for big corporations. Due to their constant release of modern driven models, Apple Computer, as was formerly known, grew tremendously until they surpassed IBM, a tech giant of the time. As they grew, so did their personnel and hence their human resource management.

In 1983, Jobs clashed with the board of directors and was ousted for attempting to stage a coup on the then Chief Executive, John Sculley. This is even though Jobs had handpicked him. Jobs eventually resigned from Apple in 1985, left with several Apple employees, and started NextInc. Due to his departure from the company, Apple stock fell by 3%. The company also suffered defeat by IBM in developing personal computers due to its over-zealous focus on selling the Apple 3 over the Apple 2. Apples' loss of its visionary leader caused a decrease in their market value compared to its precedent years.

Despite all that, Apple's bid to buy his company and welcome back its co-founder in the year 1996 led to a positive turn around for the company. This is because Steve came on board with a one-of-a-kind operating system that he and others at NextInc had developed. Extent developed the Linux based Operating system and was later developed into the Mac Os X. Jobs also created new policies for the company as well as philosophies brought about Apple's modern-day unique designs and brand name (Bel, 2010) . Apple hit the market with the iPod and other new products that turned the company around in terms of market value, thus bringing back the Apple experience (Sharma & Grant, 2011) . Furthermore, Jobs invested with Microsoft, bringing about the introduction of multiple word processors and the launching of Microsoft word in Macin tosh. This boosted the company’s revenue and brought it back to its former glory.

Apple’s lack of a vivid strategic plan in its human resource management caused a tremendous loss. The board of directors selected and ousted and was the primary employer. On the other hand, their decision to bring back Jobs led to its comeback and rise. It is clear to say that their human resource management was the primary determinant of the company's growth or failure. Despite their initial mistakes, their final strategy boosted the company to being one of the world's best employers. Apple's incorporation failure and success story clearly elaborate on what a non-strategic human resource can do to an organization.
