There exist a classic difference between Sufi and Sunni based on their emphasis and devotional practices. Sufi remains basically an offshoot of the mystical division of Islam whereas Sunni is a progeny of the conventional Islamic version. Sunni has a firm belief in the indirect style to the enlightenment of the soul while Sufi tries to feel and experience God with the assistance of a direct approach to God in confidence.
