Supernatural entities are events that occur beyond the ordinary understanding of humanity. Occurrences and events that alter the usual circle of life as theories are proven null. Paranormal activities tend to have an impact on humans either positively or negatively. Each supernatural effect brings about an effect into someone’s life. Such events are such as the existence of ghosts, spirits, and life after death. In this 21 st century, the entertainment world has brought about horror in programs such as horror movies which concentrate more on these supernatural happenings this paper shall focus on majorly two films which are Ringu (1998) by Nakata Hideo and Ju-on (2002).
Ringu by Nakata Hideo
The film Ringu is a very dramatic film filled with hair-raising scenes in the movie and a lot of deaths. The cause of death in the film is a curse implanted on a video that when any person views it death shall follow next. Curses are always a negative opposing force that leads to calamity in the community and society as a whole. The movie is themed horror due to the numerous deaths. Reiko, an investigator discovered that Tomoko her niece and three of her friends mysteriously died on the same night and it’s eventfully that their faces had fear written all over their faces. The video is a digital film that possesses a curse only through the sense of sight. This is arguably peculiar as most courses are either hereditary or passed on by word of mouth from one person to another. Another twist comes in Reiko upon the death of the teenagers. She goes to the cabin they lived and finds a videotape filled with very disturbing images. Shockingly, she receives a phone call depicting that she had only seven days to live. Never have photos been blurred just after being taken. However, Reiko’s face turned blurred on the photograph just like that of her niece. It is a supernatural phenomenon for Reiko to receive a death call just after watching the videotape and also pictures mysteriously turning blur with any mechanical distortion or damage occurring.

Mysteries of the world are a never-ending. At the last scene of the film, Ryuji is at his house. His television switches itself on. The ghost of Sadako crawls out of the well and out of Ryuji’s television set and kills him ("Ring – Synopsis ," 2017). Such a supernatural entity such as Sadako coming back to life and crawling out of the television is an unknown phenomenon. Supernatural entities are unfathomable wonders and bring brain-cracking experiences. There is a very unusual relationship being established between this incomprehensible scene and Ryuki. Ryuki shows a perplexed and worried face as the screen switches on itself and Sadako crawls out of the screen. Supernatural entities have a horrible experience with the human beings. Coming back to a life of Sadako and from a digital image to real-life is a very shocking event. The image of Sadako is also very scary with no fingernails and eyeballs that send chills down anyone’s spine ("Ring – Synopsis ," 2017). Unheard of events such as the dead coming to life create avery disturbing experience to the human beings. There is a sense of disbelief, trauma instilled in the people. Supernatural entities establish a rather creepy and scary relationship with the human rather than a friendly one. Disbelief is one of the most prone emotions to strike as people are panic-stricken etc. for example, the teenagers in the film were found seven days’ dead mysteriously, and their faces were filled with fear. Despite the girls being already corpses, the intensity of fear in them at the event of a collision with the supernatural event engraved so much fear in them that it was clearly visible from their visages ("Ring – Synopsis ," 2017).
The other relationship established is a deep denial of the occurring event just as seen in the film when Sadako crawled out of the television. Ryuji screams and tries to run away from the walking corpse of Sadako. These unexplainable events establish a denial in most people as supernatural events are unthinkable and cannot exist. Ryuji cannot believe that Sadako is alive and crawled out of the television. Another effect the unfathomable entities bring is a moment of shock or functionality. Just as in the film; Ryuji is unable to escape despite having too much time. These entities are very much influential to man as they dare break the norms of the ordinary occurrences (“Ring– Synopsis ," 2017).
Ju-on (2002) by Shimizu Takashi
Ju-on is another horror film produced in the year 2002.The story is based on a curse in a particular house. Tayako murders his wife after finding out that his wife had a crush on his best friend in college. He goes ahead and also kills and kills his son Toshio. This terrible event leads to accusing in their home. The curse befalls anyone that comes into contact with the house or goes inside the haunted house. The agony and anger bring about the evil, and its reactions are very daring.
Dreadful occurrences in life result into bad omens and even curses for future generations of involved parties. This statement is very much evident in the film Ju-on. The film is based on evil from a past event. The magnitude of the recent tragic event is clearly observable in the passage of the crime from one individual to another. In this film, the curse is not only associated to those hats enter the house but also those involved in any way with those that have ever entered the room. The movie is very much filled with a lot of supernatural occurrences especially manifestation of spirits arising from the dead. The ghosts in this film have a significant factor as a lot of emotion is portrayed through their actions to the people.
Past events in one’s life trigger what shall occur in the future. Thisis clearly seen in the film Ju-on with the murder of the wife Kayako and the son Toshio for no good reason ("The Curse," 2017). Their spirits haunt all individuals that go into their home showing a lot of anger and revenge attitude. The relationship established here is quite strange, and a much intense relationship is established. The spirit of Kayako and Toshio shall not allow new occupants to dwell peacefully due to the injustice was done to them by the father. The film is filled with a lot of drama and revenge is the biggest theme throughout the movie ("The Curse," 2017). Takeo doesn’t stop killing after murdering his family but goes ahead to shoot the wife of his best friend in his apartment. There is a lot of charitable activities clearly shown in the movie as Takeo rips off the fetus from the womb and carries it in his arms as he walks along the street. However, Kayako’s spirit resurfaces from a nearby dumpsite and kills Takeo. The relationship here between Kayako’s spirit and her husband Takeo is very much evident. It's a vengeful relationship. Kayako murders Takeo in revenge of taking her life and their son’s. More supernatural events continue to occur in the house after a new family moves into the house ("The Curse," 2017). Yuki runs from Kanna’s closet and a black cat surfaces in the room. Horrifying noises emanate from the attic, and as he runs to check out, she is pulled by Kayako. This is a very strange and unorthodox event, where the corpse is pushing an individual. The traditional relationship here is a scary one and a horrifying one. Being in close contact with a cold dead body covered in blood is a very traumatizing experience for a young child to experience in their life ("The Curse," 2017). However, more killings are administered in the school as two girls are found dead, and one daughter arrives home with a missing jaw. It is such a strange event for a young girl to have enough power to fight and rip off their colleague's jawbone. However, supernatural entities were involved. The other relationship established here is the superiority of the supernatural traits compared to a human. Spirits have the power to possess other living bodies and initiate actions through them.
Revenge is a very powerful force. This is clearly seen as Toshiba's spirit possesses the girls to lead to such a fatal injury (Hassan, 2017). All these were the occupants of the house and the individuals they associated with. This clearly brings out how much power the curse effects were adheredto. Most people don’t believe in curses However the film shows the extremes taken to ensure that the consequences of the evilare fully executed. In the last scene, Yoshimi Kitada is possessed by Kayako’s spirit clearly resulting in more deaths and disasters in the family.
Supernatural entities are different call and very many unfathomable experiences in an individual’s life (Hassan, 2017). Most are caused by past events or forces that are stronger than the people such as emotions (anger, revenge), etc. The events are a very much cynical twist from the norm and have very much impact on the humans. Different phenomena bring about different reactions (Hassan, 2017). However, shock; disbelief and fear are most displayed emotions as most of the events are unexpected. Do you believe in supernatural entities?
