Introduction
Survey research is the collection of information in the form of responses or questions from a sample of the population. Although I have never participated in a survey before, I expect it to be an interactive process since it involves receiving and recording information from participants.
Selection of Research topic
The research topic for the survey is Civil Liberties and Anti-Terrorism Measures. The research will explain the various civil liberties in the United States. The information collected will investigate whether civil liberties limit the war on terror. It will explore the balance between security and civil liberties. Information on where do citizens feel the safest will also be collected. The survey information will be collected randomly in parks, hospitals, organizations, and academic institutions within California.

Collection of Information
The sampling technique utilized in the research is probability sampling. It caters for equal opportunity for inclusion by accommodating everyone. It is the most suitable for the topic (Civil Liberties and Anti-terrorism Measures) as it enables total representation and does not bias. In probability sampling, this research would employ cluster sampling due to its ability to cover large geographical regions. Cluster sampling is also time-efficient and cost-effective since it is focused on fragments of the population.
First, I would choose a cluster group in this case, New York. Then I would number each cluster for research work, for instance, Long Beach, New York, Middletown, Kingston, and Hudson. Then I would select the samples based on a characteristic such as race, organization, education level, or gender. Afterwards, I would determine the sample size then collect the data using questionnaires and interviews. I would conclude by assessing the response rate based on the individual willing to participate in the study.
