According to the course syllabus, this course is designed to teach psychology and the syllabus is rigorous to ensure the student grasp various concepts regarding psychology. The syllabus has ten main points. They include the description of the course, description of the course format, the course objectives, the course outline, course outline of topics, virtual course outline, guidelines on classroom disruptions, guidelines on online discussion posts, assignments and exams, guidelines on attendance, grading and academic honesty code (Jefferson State Community College, 2020). 

A course syllabus is an important part of a course that tells students what to expected when taking the course and what is expected of them when the signup for the course. For instance, it tells the students the objectives of the course and what they are expected to grasp from the course. It directs the student on what resources to use to get maximum utility from a course.

In taking any course, the academic code of conduct stipulates that students should avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism is cheating by presenting others' work, ideas, and data as one’s own ideas. It may also involve inventing information or data and failing to document sources of the ideas used in one writings. To avoid plagiarism students must avoid copying or present others' works as their own. Students must avoid falsifying data and must accurately document the sources of the ideas they incorporate in their work. The penalties for plagiarism are punitive and range from scoring a zero on the plagiarized assignment, exam or an F in the course. Students may face probation, suspension or dismissal from the institution (Jefferson State Community College, 2020). 

APA referencing style is one of the important reference documentation approaches use to acknowledge the sources of ideas use in one’s writing. It is a resource developed by the American Psychological Association. Published in the APA referencing manual, the style stipulates the formation of pages with 1-inch margins on all sides and using 12 pint Times new roman font. The text should be double spaced. The headers must contain a shortened version of the title, known as the running head, and the page number. The paper must comprise four primary sections which include the title pages, an abstract, the body (the main essay or research paper) and the list of references (Purdue Online Writing Lab, n.d.).
