Provide a Brief Description of the School's Climate and Culture. 

• The climate of Pioneer Elementary school D20 is warm and welcoming. The entrance to the school has a well-maintained lawn that compliments the impressive school building. The security guard was friendly but vigilant; he asked about my details and confirmed them before allowing me to walk to the school. The school environment is colorful; there are graphics and colorful paintings in the hallway. 

• The classroom is painted in pale orange. The learners’ art projects hung along the walls alongside quotes from famous artists such as Picasso.

• The learners appeared excited about the lesson, some of them had even started drawing even before the lesson began. There were 24 learners in the class.

• The educator began by telling the learners to settle down before introducing the lesson. The educator followed the prepared lesson plan to cover all the areas. 

• There were learning aids to help the teacher illustrate the topic. The educator had his drawing tools; he created simple examples of optical illusion art to demonstrate to the students before asking the students to take part in the optical illusion class activity. 

• Students participated in the class by answering and asking questions. The time was enough for the educator to cover the topic adequately. 

Describe the Learning Objective(s) for the Lesson You Observed 

• The lesson began with the teacher explaining what optical illusion is. The teacher showed different optical illusion art and asked students to describe their components. 

• The teacher guided the learners through the optical illusion activity titled were students used their pencils, rulers, and markers to create optical illusion art of geometric shapes. 

• The teacher moved around the class helping learners. Learners were also allowed to discuss with each other so that everyone completed the activity successfully by the end of the lesson. 

Describe How Student Diversity is Evident in the Pedagogical Practices. 

• The educator took into consideration different learning capabilities of learners. During the classroom activity, the educator moved around to give individualized attention to learners who needed help. 

• The educator used visual aids by showing and creating optical illusion art for learners to understand the topic better.

• The educator used the teacher-led approach and student-centered approaches. The educator started by explaining the topic while the learners listened. 

• Towards the end of the lesson, learners had the freedom to engage as they asked questions about the classroom activity. The teacher did not discourage learners who collaborated during the exercise.

• The educator managed the classroom using different strategies. The educator began by explaining the topic and engaging students by asking questions. 

• The educator also made the class engaging during the classroom activity. Students concentrated on drawing the activity as the teacher instructed.

• The students were active in the class. They answered questions, made comments and asked questions. 

• The students used what they learned to complete the classroom activity. Students had the freedom to use different colors to create the optical illusion image. 

• Some students helped each other to complete the activity. 

Describe the Educator's Teaching Philosophy. 

• The educator was guided by his philosophy of mentoring students in a stimulating classroom. The educator gave equal attention to all students and guided learners who did not get the concept as fast as others (Schönwetter, 2013). 

• The learning environment was stimulating. It was colorful with a lot of visual aids to help the educator engage with the learners. 

What was the Most Impactful Part of the Lesson You Observed? 

• The most impactful part of the lesson is when the teacher attended to students independently to ensure that everyone understood the lesson and the activity. The educator guided the students by asking questions to make them independent thinkers. 

If You were Teaching the Lesson You Observed, what is the One Thing You Would do Differently? 

• The class was engaging and stimulating. The educator achieved the goals of the lesson. 

• If I were teaching the class, I would encourage group activities more. Art is an engaging subject, and when students work in groups, they learn to collaborate and have fun together.
