The basic notion that multicultural education introduces is that teachers are expected to come up with well-established structures to aid in creating a conducive environment for multicultural students. Odena (2018) supports the idea of having to adopt a multicultural approach when dealing with higher education but highlights the need to consider the unique challenges that such settings introduce. For example, it is important to take into account that focusing on multicultural settings may pose a major communication hurdle for teachers and educators. The expected implication involves various challenges that create difficulties in the achievement the desired outcome. The achievement of the desired outcome is relevant in defining the nature of communication process that is implemented in higher education.
