Implementation
Project implementation involves the process where the project plan is put into action aimed at achieving the intended deliverables in the study. The mathematics lesson plan aimed at facilitating the development of specific student needs as they study the subject. The implementation phase is essential because it enables the teacher to ascertain that the deliverables meet the intended criteria and objectives of the course. The lesson plan had two primary objectives that demonstrate the expected deliverables from the study. Firstly, the project intends to identify Mathematical needs among English learners and students with special needs. Secondly, the project intended to enhance the perspective 4 th -grade students had about Mathematics targeted at enhancing their performance in the subject. It is also critical to understand that the implementation of the project had to occur within two weeks.
Identify an aspect that you want to investigate
Teachers use skills, drills, or a combination of the two strategies to teach Mathematics to their students. However, these strategies introduce some challenges for learners with disabilities, and thus they cannot be effective in the current study. Accordingly, the most preferred mode of teaching will be individualized education programs to enhance the ability to address the individual needs of specific learners. The individualized education program is effective because it allows the teacher to cater to the special needs that some children might exhibit like hearing and visual impairments, cognitive challenges, and learning disabilities. The effectiveness of the strategy in achieving the intended goals will depend on the ability of the teacher to understand the likely challenges that will occur when using the strategy in class. For instance, using the individualized education program is time-consuming and it is a challenge for the teacher to complete the curriculum on time. Similarly, the standard evaluation strategy acceptable by the education sector might not accommodate the techniques used in IEP learning. Accordingly, even though the learners understand Mathematics better, their performance is likely to be relatively low because due to the existing disconnect between the program and preferred evaluation techniques (Santiago-Lugo & Lugo, 2018) . Subsequently, teachers are concerned about ways they will integrate IEP learning with popular evaluation standards to enhance the performance of students during their examinations.

Collect and organize data
The use of deliberate teaching when addressing student needs requires that the assessment of whether the strategy is effective to be individualized. That means that evaluating the effectiveness of the program should be individualized. Therefore, data collection will target the learners individually. For instance, the researcher will evaluate how each participating student responds to the learning process. The researcher should focus on determining the performance of the student before the introduction of the IEP strategy while teaching Mathematics and observable changes. The data collected will show a reflection on the overall performance in Mathematics for the entire class. The study will be more reliable and the validity of using IEP in teaching Mathematics by stating why it was relevant to apply the strategy to the particular student. Thus, the data will have three categories, namely students with special needs, English learners, and Grade four students with a negative perception of the subject. Consequently, it will be possible to determine the significance of the technique to each of the categories and ways it can help improve student’s understanding of Mathematics subject.
Interpret data and imagine a solution or a way forward
Interpretation of data will solely depend on the impact it will make on students' understanding of Mathematics. Improved performance and a change in the attitude of learners towards Mathematics will be an indication that the IEP strategy is effective because it helps teachers to purposefully address specific needs among students. Similarly, if the students’ attitude towards Mathematics remains negative will indicate that the exploited learning strategies are not effective in achieving intended learning goals. For instance, the Grade 4 students should find it much easier to learn Mathematics as the IEP technique helps to breakdown the lessons into smaller units that are easy for learners to comprehend. Consequently, the learners should evaluate their negative perspective towards Mathematics as the subject becomes more enjoyable for the learners. On the other hand, students that exhibit special needs when pursuing their studies should understand the subject better since teachers will focus on using a technique that they can comprehend. For instance, the teacher should include visual presentations for students with hearing impairments to enhance their learning. Therefore, all students despite their special needs have a better chance to understand Mathematics and enjoy studying when using the IEP strategy than when the technique was unexploited. Depending on the performance of the students in the subject, teachers will assess the effectiveness of the strategy in teaching the subjects and determine the appropriate next step. For example, if the strategy is effective then its use should continue and identify ways to enrich it. On the other hand, if the strategy is ineffective, teachers should change the purposeful learning and explore other useful techniques.
Try it out and take stock of what happens
In this step, the teachers implement the purposeful learning technique, which in this case refers to the use of the IEP strategy while teaching Mathematics among English learners and students with special needs. The project intends to improve the perception of 4 th Grade students in Mathematics, which means that this is the right class to enroll in the IEP strategy first. It is paramount to assess whether the teachers understand what the IEP learning techniques entail and implement it since this aspect will determine the effectiveness of the strategy. Teachers must ensure that students understand the goals and objectives of each class and spend their time passing the message across to the learners. Teachers must also ensure to acquire constant feedback from the learners by ensuring that they evaluate the performance of the students before and after the IEP strategy was implemented. The teacher should identify a way of introducing the strategy to the learners without confusing considering that learners had adapted to the skill and drill strategy. Hence, it is critical to ensure that the learners feel consistency in the learning process despite the changes made. Moreover, the teacher should also have an exit strategy in case the strategy fails to meet the expectations that the subject intended to achieve.
Monitor what you do
Monitoring the learning process is essential because it enables the teacher to identify whether the strategy is effective or less efficient when teaching the student. The teacher should monitor the reaction of the students when learning is in progress through active participation and concentration. An increase in the level of active participation when learning is in progress indicates that students are enjoying the lessons. Similarly, if the students demonstrate an increased level of concentration by keeping eye contact with the teacher and following up on what the instructor shows their contentment in the study. Moreover, the teacher should also focus on what the students say about the subjects because that demonstrates their perception of it. Positive words like a student saying he or she began to enjoy the subject demonstrates a positive change. The teacher should also consistently reflect on the happenings of one class as a way of determining what went well and what did not meet expectations. A reflection is a useful tool for teachers because it helps them to better prepare for the oncoming classes.
Review and evaluate the modified action
The essence of monitoring what happens in class is to facilitate changes that will be made in preceding lessons. The teacher must ensure that the student understands the information or objectives of a lesson before introducing new information. Hence, it will be critical to allow students to work on some problems on their own such that it will be possible to assess whether they understood what they were taught in class (Koc & Ilya, 2016) . The teacher shall therefore give the students some assignments that they shall take with them home and involve their parents in answering the questions. The strategy will facilitate parent involvement as they will also evaluate whether the IEP strategy is working on their children. Alternatively, the teacher shall also request the students to actively engage during classes by allowing them to handle some Mathematics questions for the rest of the class. The strategy is useful because it will enable students to respond and correct each other, which might facilitate understanding for students that had not understood what the teacher had taught. The monitoring process should also determine what the teacher must add to the lessons to make them more productive.
